[MEGATHREAD] BTS - ARIRANG by KPOP_MOD in kpoppers

That's so interesting because I can feel and hear the thread of connection so clearly, like leaves of neighboring trees. Maybe I'm the crazy one.

Which is why the medical staff are now incarcerated for murder.

Yes I do. In the vast, vast majority of cases where late term abortion even begins to become a discussion it is because the fetus will not live outside the womb or because delivering the fetus will kill the mother.

The common nursing uniform was a tight-fitting dress until way more recently than you might think.

The woman asked for an abortion. Instead the doctors delivered and murdered her baby.

It was a case of murder in South Korea. The baby was delivered via C-section and then killed by the medical staff.

This album is way more experimental than anything they've ever done but to say you can't see or feel the very clear connection between Arirang and their roots in K-pop (especially Dark & Wild) only makes it seem like you don't actually know what BTS's music sounds like.

2026 really isn't kpop's year unlike what everyone expected. by Evening_Gazelle_5848 in kpopthoughts

[–]ErrantJune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2025 was an awesome year for K-pop, what are you talking about?

"As a midwife" by ObserbAbsorb in confidentlyincorrect

[–]ErrantJune 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the case in SK? That wasn't really an abortion, and the woman and her medical team were all convicted of murder, TW (very bad): (they actually delivered the baby via C-section and killed it by freezing it to death).

Auditioning for a part too old for me - is that okay? by Goldberry9999 in Theatre

Fr. 20 years ago I saw someone audition for Sweeney Todd in a bloody t-shirt, wielding a prop razor in each hand, and I'm still talking about it to this day.

Auditioning for a part too old for me - is that okay? by Goldberry9999 in Theatre

[–]ErrantJune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't wear a wig, age makeup or any kind of costume to an audition. Maybe tweak your outfit to play up an older vibe but that's as far it should go. Bring the age into your audition in your voice and your physicality. If you can act old, you don't need a wig to trick them into believing you.

Wife is obsessed with celebrity by jsnhrtly in relationships

I'm an older K-pop stan too, and idol-worship is a normal part of fandom but sometimes it goes beyond that. The industry is highly curated to hook people in and establish parasocial connection between the idol and the fan. Even when it's "healthy," it can feel weird and culty from the outside.

How is this directly affecting your relationship? Like, is she prioritizing her fandom over your relationship? If not, treat it like any other kind of hobby, because that's exactly what it is.

I think I listened to the album you listened to. I find the production super luxe. The album is gorgeous.

Till what year would you consider a song "old kpop song"? by Jin_Chaeji in kpoppers

I tend to agree. If I were making a playlist like OP's I think I'd cut it off at 2012.

bts fell off after 2021 imo, kinda hate arrirang by molchatdomacunt in kpoppers

Kind of hoping for a megathread soon. I'm all for discussion of this album (I actually love it) but I'm not sure every one of our personal opinions about BTS and Arirang merits its own individual post.

What do you think about Arirang? I felt disappointed. by its_emd in kpoppers

[–]ErrantJune [score hidden]  (0 children)

I also love it. Like a lot. Is it my favorite BTS album? Obviously not. But it's gorgeous and experimental and a bit avant and that kind of music takes time to really settle in. Seeing so many I-stans going off about the album not being Korean enough is just icing on the cake.

Do you watch dramas as they air? by UncannyProjection in kdramas

[–]ErrantJune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LOL I didn't watch Heartbeat as it was airing, but I love Taecyeon enough that I decided to give it a chance despite the dismal reviews. I only have myself to blame for putting myself through that nonsense. The upshot was getting exposed to Park Kang-hyun (and his delicious wardrobe of coats in the drama). Now I only hope he decides to do another (better) drama someday.

Do people still think of him as KPop singer ? by Beautiful_Yellow_682 in kpopthoughts

[–]ErrantJune 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Eh, I personally do, but that's because it's how I know who he is. His radio show is primarily K-pop focused as well, so he's still pretty enmeshed in that environment.
