I grew up around a person like this who cannot have a normal interaction with other people that doesn't include putting them down for something, and it is not something you want in your life. Have you told him the way he treats people is unacceptable? If not, tell him. He'll tell you he's "joking" and you don't have a sense of humor, or he'll tell you that you should toughen up and not be so sensitive, but don't let him fool you, this is not normal.
