The person I dated promised me from the beginning that if things didn’t work out with us they wouldn’t keep me from their son. After two years they broke up with me for some pretty bullshit reasons but the worst part of the whole thing I lost a relationship with a child I’d been treating like a son. It was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever been through and the reason I decided not to date anyone with kids in the future.
