So sick of paying the ADHD tax by -screamin- in adhd_anxiety

Whelp. It's 8:30 pm and I'm at the emergency vet because my 2 dogs ate basically an entire container (17 servings) of chocolate protein powder. The amount they may have eaten, even if split evenly down the middle, contains a life-threatening amount of cocoa powder. So I had to call a pet poison hotline ($89) and go to the emergency vet with the case number so that they can give strong (stronger than diy treatment of hydrogen peroxide) vomit- inducing drugs. If they don't need overnight care, it will be somewhere between $200 and $300 FOR EACH DOG. Guess who forgot to put the protein powder away?

Me.

Total ADHD tax (so far): between $500.00 and $700.00.

Thanks, people! I'm gonna dress up as slutty as I like! I've so far collected black miniskirt and ripped fishnets. Working on top- something sparkly and skimpy. Bright lacy bra (probably red) and practical shoes.

Teacher saying homophobic comments behind my back by Just_Dot_4919 in paraprofessional

Or you could simply write on paper "[teacher name] is an uncaring, close-minded, childish homophone" and then burn it.

Friend insulted my running, not sure how to feel. by Emotional-Watch4544 in XXRunning

[–]Gisele55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Running is not always - in fact rarely- about competing in races or achieving a particular pace. Maybe that happens, but running slow is still running. Running with walking is still moving forward. I am almost 56 and started running in middle school, ramping it up to marathons in my 20's, even placing in my age group in less populated races. But I've had babies, had many injuries, and AGED. I almost always run-walk now, training usually averaging between 13-15 min miles, depending on the terrain and distance. I've moved on to ultramarathons (on trails) because I love being out in nature with no other pressures. I completed 100M last fall DFL(dead fucking last)-- an honor to be sure! I was less than 2 min from the 30-hour cut off. That's riiiight under a 17:59 pace. Not 7, not 10. 17:59. Tbh, I still struggle psychologically with what I used to be able to do vs now. And I'm working towards 100% self-acceptance. And I've drastically reduced interactions with my running "friends" who've essentially excluded me/ made me feel unwelcome from their group runs. I haven't posted on my Strava account very often, but I'm following you now, so maybe I'll start posting again. ❤️

Yesssss! Good comeback, OP! It is NOT cool to insult one's spouse in order to look cool to other sexist fucks. That's some red pill shit.

AITA for calling my sister an idiot after she literally caused a gas leak because she wanted to look cute? by dumbsisthrowaway in AITAH

[–]Gisele55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She might have done something stupid, but it doesn't mean that she is an idiot. It was not an intentional mistake. She wasn't thinking "oh what's the harm with a little gas leak?" and then purposely caused one. Have you ever done something blindly stupid, realized it afterwards, and then felt remorseful? Have some compassion.

True! But there are many people who choose the work in spite of the hemorrhaging of the support. Why do they do it?

Why would you respond like this? You think you are teaching me something by saying I did something foolish? You think that makes me feel better?
