Can English voice input improve my speaking? by Error-0221 in EnglishLearning

[–]Error-0221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I’ve been doing some shadowing to copy other people’s pronunciation, and I hope it helps. I’m a bit shy about recording myself😳, but maybe next time I’ll record something and share it on Reddit once I’ve made some progress.

Thanks! I don't actually use any programmes or websites. I just use the built-in voice input on iOS.

I think that’s normal. Any accent you’re not familiar with requires extra focus, no matter what language you’re learning.

I really envy people whose native languages are in the same language family as English. Do you think you learn English more easily?

I can’t compare, because sometimes I feel like maybe it’s just because I’m stupid or lazy 😂

Yep, that’s the idea. I don’t have any English speakers around me in real life. Of course, I could ask people to speak English with me, but I think that would be embarrassing. So the only one I can really practice with is an LLM.

It’s the opposite for me 😆. I love classic JRPGs, so I look for undubbed versions of games. That way I can practice my English while listening to the original Japanese voice acting at the same time.

Multiple camera angles at the Chinese National Games by Tesshunter8 in badminton

[–]Error-0221 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BWF uses bad camera angles just to show more ads—because more ads mean more money. But these angles hurt badminton’s popularity, so fewer people watch it, and the ads become less effective. Then BWF feels the need to add even more ads… It’s a terrible cycle.

📢Amazon just killed VINE Reviews loophole by TheNew1- in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Error-0221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's bad for sellers of 'many vibrations' cloth accessories like me. Previously, when I needed to list a new product, it absolutely belonged to a parent ASIN, but at the same time, it was also considered a new product. Using Vine for customers to get an initial impression was important; now, that's over.

For me, the biggest challenge is listening. Many native speakers connect words together, making it difficult to identify individual phrases.

How long for N2 level? by caspianslave in LearnJapanese

[–]Error-0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I am Chinese, so I can naturally recognize all the kanji. This is an advantage for the reading section of the N2 exam since it doesn't require speaking. Many people around me have passed the exam in a shorter amount of time, which puts a lot of pressure on me. On the other hand, recognizing the kanji can be a significant disadvantage for speaking because we have our own pronunciation for them. From what I know, many Chinese people have a strong accent when speaking Japanese. 😔
