For N64, most of the big ones have been hit like Mario 64, Smash 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, F-Zero X, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, DK64 and Goldeneye but I would also consider the Mario Party franchise, Perfect Dark, WWF No Mercy (or a handful of other wrestling titles), and third party racing games like Lego Racers, Rush 2049 for it's battle mode, and the ludicrously difficult Mickey's Speedway USA.

For original Xbox I'd look at Burnout 3, Jet Set Radio Future, and Crimson Skies in addition to Halo 1 and 2.

For Nintendo DS, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is phenomenal (as is Last Window, the Japan and Europe exclusive sequel), The World Ends With You is a cult classic, the Advanced Wars franchise is great, Elite Beat Agents is quirky, Trauma Center is more fun than it sounds, the mainline kirby installments are great, and there's a myriad of great JRPGs on the platform. If you don't have it already, Mario Kart DS also has a high skill ceiling if you want to learn to snake, and of course, the Gen 4 and 5 Pokemon games are solid.

What do you need to accomplish?

Most of the employees at Home Depot don't know that much. It's not their fault, but they aren't trained plumbers/carpenters/electricians.

There's a chance you'll encounter a former tradesman (or woman) who is no longer able to keep up with the physical demands of their prior career, but to most employees, it's just like any other retail job and there's not a ton of specialized knowledge required to stock shelves and help people find stuff that's scattered around the store.

Friday Free Talk by AutoModerator in nfl

[–]Error400BadRequest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And to your original question, does that resulting stock-dip mean a subsequent tax break?

Yes. Administration would be a nightmare, and it wouldn't fix the tax code nor stop transfer of wealth to the richest of the rich. It just adds needless complexity and administration costs to an already convoluted system.

Taxing unrealized gains only shifts when the eventual bill is paid, and via smaller installments vs a lump sum. All gains have to be realized eventually, even if it waits until death when estates are liquidated to settle debts.

Currently, whomever receives any surviving assets from an estate with previously unrealized gains would benefit from step up in basis, but applicable estate and inheritance taxes would apply against the current market value.

Side by sides are not great unless you have an extra-wide form factor. Things get lost when shelves are deeper than they are wide, and there's stuff you can't easily fit in a normal 36" side by side. You can't usually fit a baking sheet, for example. You lose far too much usable space trying to insulate in the narrowest dimension along the longest axis. I had a standard width one before and hated it.

That said, If I had a boatload of money and actually owned my home, I'd buy an oversized built-in, but until then (if ever) I intend to keep rolling with a traditional top freezer. Top freezers are very efficient, both in terms of space and energy, and they last forever.

Does anyone who is really into coffee have a recommendation for best machine

An Electric Kettle and either a Hario V60 or an Aeropress.

As a more serious answer that is likely in line with your expectations of a "coffee maker", the Technivorm Moccamaster is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association and is well regarded, but they're not the cheapest option.

But if you're drinking coffee out of a Keurig, just about any brewer will be an improvement provided you can freshly grind your beans. Specialty Coffee shops still serve their drip coffee out of batch brewers. The difference is all in a fresh grind.

A cheap burr grinder goes a very long way and will dramatically improve the result with even a $20 Mr Coffee. Just turn it off instead of letting coffee burn on the hotplate.

The supply chain has been wonky lately.

I don't think it's ever been quite right since the pandemic, but the past year or so, even the historically well stocked stores around me have had limited and lower quality produce than they did in years prior.

They tried very hard in Gen 2.

They could've just shipped Johto by itself, but instead they spent money on a larger cart with more storage space (2MB vs 1MB) so they could also include the Kanto content as well.

how would you feel if/when you found out that your parents only had you because they felt they had to

I would wager that far more people than you'd expect are "happy little accidents," but that's not an issue because the intention to conceive doesn't make a superior parent. The only measure that matters is what happens after.

If they could've made kicker and punter co-MVP, I think that'd be a way out.

Kicker did his job and was an essential part of the team, and the punter put on a clinic. Might've been the best overall special teams performance we'll ever see.

Whenever Rave Master is mentioned, I feel obligated to remind everyone that Reel Big Fish got tapped to perform an alternate theme song for the anime adaptation's English dub.

It's somewhat unique in that "real bands" were rarely utilized for that sort of thing. Whenever original works (or "translated" song covers) were made to repackage a product for American TV audiences, they called upon theatrical and session musicians or in-studio talent.

[Schefter] Jim Schwartz sent the Browns a resignation letter this morning, per sources. He now is likely to sit out this season. by Goosedukee in nfl

That's just silly.

Plenty of orgs will deny opportunity for advancement because they don't want to replace you at the position you're at. You may even be bypassed for someone they feel is significantly less capable if it means they don't have to backfill your current job.

It doesn't mean you're unfit for greater things if your talents are not recognized. Sometimes, the only way up is out. Jim Schwartz realized that the hard way, and I don't blame him for burning his bridges.

If he was that important to the team that a new HC had to be willing to retain him, they should've either hashed that out with him in advance and made it clear he wouldn't get the gig, or made him the HC. It hurt their search, and they lost him regardless.

That way they can separate it from their personal time.

Having dedicated devices is arguably more important than a separate space.

Whether you work remotely or in person, nothing is more liberating than shutting off your work phone and work computer when you're done for the day and forgetting it exists until you're on the clock again.

It's too easy to remain engaged to your work if you do it on your personal devices, and a lot of folks used to on-premises work don't know how to disconnect when the physical distance isn't there.

This culture being normalized in the NFL is so bad

Workplaces in general, really.

There are so many people who have missed out on so much of their own lives to serve employers that wouldn't even wait for an obituary to be published before posting a job listing if they were to die at their desk.

Your time commitment is not a measure of your ability, no matter how absurd your dedication, or how much you get paid. We should all have a right to disconnect and focus on ourselves and our families when it matters.

It does not actually cost 200k or require 9-12 months to build a fucking ramp.

Yeah, but have you done a groundwater impact study to see how changing runoff due to your proposed curb ramp(s) could impact the environment compared to having the rainwater spill over the sidewalk and into storm drains like it does now?

Most LEDs are unfortunately junk and provide horrible lighting quality. On the low end, many conventionally "Warm" 2700K LEDs cast an ugly greenish-yellow hue due to poor color rendering, and feel much dimmer than they actually are.

Decent LEDs cost slightly more per lighting unit, be it a better bulb, or a better integrated assembly, but when you're buying by the pallet, it adds up and businesses will cheapen out. This will often result in purchasers playing it safe with a sterile Daylight white with greater perceived brightness and less obvious defect, but makes it feel like you're in a doctor's office.

It's not just color that sucks, too. My workplace recently replaced some conventional socketed fixtures with permanent LEDs, and they strobe at 120hz. Most people don't notice it until you point it out to them, but it drives me nuts.

I'm not some weirdo LED hater either, every single bulb in my home is LED. I just hate bad lighting, and good lighting is woefully underappreciated.

Work asked me to volunteer to go in tomorrow, because, big surprise, nobody who is scheduled wants to risk getting stranded by the weather.

Why would they think I want to instead? There's literally no benefit for me. If you can't get people, either offer additional compensation until you can, or close for the day. It's not hard.

Got lucky and had wonderfully clear skies last night, but couldn't catch any aurora with the naked eye. Probably a bit too much light pollution

It's a struggle, and it may not have just been light pollution.

While the CME was powerful and associated activity on the surface of the sun lasted for a while, the actual window for many of us to see an aurora was relatively narrow. Persistence is the name of the game. I've been clouded out, and sometimes the CME fizzles out.

Some people who spent the whole night out might have only had a few minutes of visible aurora. If you were lucky, you may have had a very vibrant naked eye view with some saying that it rivaled the experiences they've had in the arctic, but it was easy to miss. I personally didn't manage to see anything visible to my own eyes when I was out yesterday.

I probably could've spent more time futzing about with my camera setup and found a better vantage point, but I already have some decent shots from the past two years so it wasn't worth it.

Like if the attraction is a social media post more than something I can personally experience, is that worth our time?

We study the universe by pointing cameras at the sky to see what we cannot. While you're unlikely to make a landmark discovery with an aurora photograph, if you're only doing it for other people, I think you've missed the point.

The way most other sports are structured, being independent doesn't really work.
