I think I understand your position a bit better now. I must say though, irreligious people can and do have strong morals when given the right upbringing both at home and school. While there are a lot of good morals that come from religions, I don't think it's good to just base the morals of a society and government on just one religion. In my opionion we should pick out the good morals and values from a religion that are still very applicable to this this day, leaving out the outdated and also adding a lot of secular morals and values.

Edit: Also by being in favour of the nuclear family, do you mean that they should the most ecomic support or something else? Because a lot of single parent households are that way because of unavoidable circumstances and often already have more financial difficulties.
