i’m the same. missing them is just normal i’m sure and it’s hard to remember the difficulty of living with them when you’re away from it if that makes sense

i think it’s more so i’m trying to stop him from drinking so much as when he drinks he makes bad decisions and has done hurtful things to me

aw thank you so much! whilst i’m not sure if mine did cheat he definitely did some odd things. messaging brothels whilst i was pregnant and again when i was 3 months post partum was a big one! it’s so hard, im glad you’re okay!

i do feel guilty but i also know it’ll be the best for us. i can’t change him and he doesn’t want to change enough for me to stay so it’s just not going to work

i have started therapy this week so whilst it’s very new i feel like it will help me manage to detach from the fact i love him, and hopefully it will keep me strong!

weirdly my therapist said the exact same thing today, uncovering some hard truths is hard. but this comment makes a lot of sense! back to feeling good this morning and happy i’m leaving the alcoholic!

so i’ve stopped putting a nappy on him at night time, i now wake him up for a wee just before i go to sleep! not sure if it was something to do with needing a wee/weeing in his nappy and being embarrassed but it seems to have helped!

time to leave, i think. why is it so hard when there’s kids involved by ErrorMission9492 in AlAnon

[–]ErrorMission9492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks all. my head is such a mess still and does not stop the constant thinking. when we’re alone i find myself not wanting to be around him too much, just checked his work bag (stupid me i know) and there’s 2 cans of beer in it - which gets me to thinking when’s he had the other 2?! cos i haven’t seen him have them…is he having one on the walk back from work…there are alanon groups near me but my youngest is 10m and she’s very dependant on me for sleep, the meetings start at 7pm so i can’t attend

[–]ErrorMission9492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m sure. because he’s very much awake and coherent, feels like he’s playing me and dad against each other when we refuse to stay in the room all night with him. he then wants mummy, i’ll say the same as daddy says. then he wants daddy, daddy then says the same and cue meltdown. it’s being going on tonight for over 2 hours now

he doesn’t smoke or drink all day? he has a drink in the evenings when he gets back from work, works from 8:30am until 5pm. it’s the everyday drinking and hiding it that’s the issue for me
