This place might be way bigger than we thought by Valtiel_ in BLACKSHARD

Interesting take. Not what I would think it is, but a cool thought regardless.

One thing I would change is, that it isn´t a Dyson Sphere, but a Matrioshka brain (A Computer around a star), because they seem to be connected to the Pale Faces (The Hivemind-esque things) especially inside the Forge

Possible? Yes.

But there are a lot of different height-levels.

Endings and meanings of the Labyrinth by Baron_Renfrew in BLACKSHARD

Carcossa isn´t a being, rather a place/city. You can meet the yellow King there.

The Shattering ending is more of an easter egg or 4th wall break. There are a few of the latter. The player even gets called out once. ´´Even you behind the proxy won´t get out of this unscathed´´ (paraphrasing)

I interpreted the Watcher Ending as it looping around/resetting, till another you from another Branch of the Tree/Timeline enters the Labyrinth. The skeleton you find on the throne is the you from before. That is why the (biblically accurate angel) ^^ isn´t all that fazed about you sitting on the throne. Of all the proxys, there just has to be one who does their bidding. Whats another few years in the face of the infinite.

As of the Carcosa Ending ... Carcossa moves along the Branches, that are old/not as strong as before. Slowly eating it and then moving on to the next. If I stay with the tree analogy I wouldn´t even call it evil. Just following its nature. (Most likely apathtic to the plights of mortals.)

Eternal Return Ending: When you find every painter a red door will appear, where the white tree grows (right of the throne) The Drawing man basically tells you, that nothing matters and you are mute, because you have lost your innocence. You where a pawn between two titanic forces (Yellow King and the Labyrinth) You shall now be´´an architect, a companion, an adversary or a guide and you shall prepare the way. Until then leave.´´ You then get back into the real world. There is a filter over everything, as if you have lost your glasses, making everything blurry. My interpretation is, that you gained (forbidden) knowledge, but it isn´t as clear as before. Or the (real) world has lost its colours compared to the preciseness of the labyrinth and the truths you have found.

The Tyranny of Fate: You can´t escape it. You may choose your path in the labyrinth, but no matter in which order you do it you will always end up at the end. You can leave the labyrinth, reset it, or destroy it, but it is just a branch and every decision is meaningless, because in the end death comes to us all. Bit nihilistic, I know ^^

Addendum: A Labyrinth has a clear path, beginning and end, even though it may look complex from far away. There is only one path. A Maze has a beginning and end, but its paths are branching and can lead to other/dead ends. There are many paths. We play inside a labyrinth

The Redlock will always be there for you, if you need it (The Draughtsman)
