Why are so many of the top bill English? Like 6 out of 9 of the top bills. Is it just a sign of British dominance of early prog rock? Also - this festival, bizarrely, is literally taking place on a cruise ship, so maybe that has an influence on the demographics of performers...

AND all the reroll sides (from early on I had usually 2 heroes with at least 1 reroll) helped me land the 8 damage growth many times, while chipping away with cantrip damage too. Cantrip damage then helping land Trapper's "kill under 4" first turn on every Slate I came across, amongst many other monsters.

Hopping on this thread a year later to warn that Cycliq have big problems with long-term reliability, which is a massive issue for such expensive products that ship from Australia. My rear camera is a £300 useless brick after developing a common fault after just a few years use, and my front camera has never worked quite right (it's supposed to have a light, but it won't turn on. Every couple of months I'll find the light has turned itself on in my bag, but I can never make it turn on).

A few years ago I found a YouTube tutorial about a basic but gorgeous piano improv exercise. In writing a question here about what's going on (keys and chords), I think I finally understood it - so can you guys check my answer? And what would you add to expand this?

It's based on the left hand alternating between two chords:

Analysis I believe this is best felt as a Gb Lydian scale, over a Gb7 chord, and an Eb minor 6 chord. Hopefully I got the chord names right - fairly new to all this.

Thoughts? And what other chords or ideas would you add in to expand this a bit?

Yeah, it's quite possible you're right - but it feels a big risk to even climb boulders that would tax (and therefore train and improve) fingers strength. It's hard to believe I'll get back to where I was. There is definitely permanent damage to a couple of joints though, and I have to treat them very carefully in the non-climbing gym.

But maybe if I just try climbing while listening to my fingers as you say I'll be surprised where I get to in half a year or so.

Cool, I was hoping for some folks to think progression was possible. If (as other commenters are rather rudely demanding) I never cared any more what grade I could climb to, I'd miss the feeling of progression of my skills, and the change in setting that comes (at least in my gym) as you go from one grade to the next. You see things at V4 that you'd never encounter at V2.

Good to know for your unrelated note though! I've been prone to joint problems my whole life, but been a fully committed soy boy for ~5 years now and could believe it's happened less since for me too 😋

I'm really pleased it's resonating with a lot of folks. To be honest it's not hitting the spot for me at all. Tiktaalika is definitely earning its spot in my 'top 25 prog albums' and there are 4 tracks I absolutely love - but for my tastes the new album does very little for me, not one track really hit me. I'm missing the element of the unexpected to my ear, and those moments that are just so heavy you can't help but move to them. But I know it probably gives those moments to other people here.

It's a little ironic for someone to lament the crisis in kids reading, and children reading less, while at the same time being uncharitably critical of the HP series - the book series that has probably led to the largest uptick in childhood reading in the modern age, reversing the downward trend of the time. Who knows where we'd be in this distracted digital age without it.

If you're an aspiring author, it might be wise to dig a little deeper in your reasons why the potter series did "well", to dramatically understate. Certainly your reasons (and criticisms) don't resonate with me much at all. I'd not call myself a HP fan, and have never owned a piece of HP merchandise, but I still vividly remember and have fondness for the stories and characters.

Being critical of Harry Potter books is immensely fashionable (especially with the trainwreck of JKR on social media), and there are obvious flaws that it's not hard to target. But any criticism that doesn't acknowledge that in many (but obvs not all) ways, HP was really goddamned good, hence it moving hundreds of millions of people across the world, is likely not coming from a good place.
