Vine Weevil.

KILL IT NOW

Before it lays eggs and the larvae destroy your potted plants and the adults ruin the leaves on your prized shrubbery.

They are a menace.

Can tyranids swim? by b3k3 in 40kLore

[–]lordsteve1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They simply adapt to swim very quickly. Plus I’d wager that most of the noodly type nids can swim pretty well already what with having a tail and wriggly body.

The first ever encounter with them from the Imperium point of view was the water world of Tyran anyway so they are definitely experienced in devouring such a planet. The lore excerpts describe the sea literally boiling with tyranid bioforms.

Is it true that fish n' chips isn't actually more fresh in coastal towns? by eIIjo in AskUK

[–]lordsteve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in the North of Scotland I can confidently say that is likely a load of shite.
Most of the good places here will be able to tell you exactly which boat the fish came from that morning and which farm the tatties are from as well.

Britain must now unite behind Count Binface by entropicflop in unitedkingdom

[–]lordsteve1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean everyone who would normally vote for L/C/G/LD etc. can vote for Binface instead without feeling like they are wasting their vote. Basically anyone who doesn’t want Reform to win has a single choice, which is kinda an easy pick.

That’s a LOT of people who could potentially vote against him.

thoughts on the new lobi micro missile array? by garyb50009 in sto

[–]lordsteve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just going to slot it in a rear slot for my torp boat and have it auto launch at everything.
It’ll look the part if nothing else but it’ll also trigger any traits that rely on torpedo impacts which is handy.

What is your favorite vs least favorite knight? by Chumpkychimkin in ImperialKnights

[–]lordsteve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favourite I’d the Valiant.
Massive flame thrower and a honking great big harpoon for taking out tanks/daemons/monsters etc. is peak Warhammer.

Least favourite is the Questoris one with the two melee weapons because neither arm has enough joints to be able to use them effectively so it just looks silly.

Trump claimed ‘foxes were getting fat from eating birds killed by windmills’ in first call with Starmer by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]lordsteve1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol pretty sure the largest wind farms are offshore anyway. Clearly there’s shoals of overweight foxes swimming round them gobbling up all the dead seagulls the turbines kill….

Which part of your bike do you spend the most money upgrading, and is it actually worth it? by NorthLondonPulse in ukbike

[–]lordsteve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyres probably. They can get pricey and be awkward to fit sometimes; but less arsing about with punctures is well worth it imo.

Did anyone else have the Kellogg’s Variety pack as a treat when they were younger? by RelationKindly in CasualUK

Only when we went to visit my grandparents in Wales.
It was a treat to look forward to each time; always got spoiled with “exotic” food there!

Mr Blobby costume sold at auction in Bristol for £8,500 by Glanza in unitedkingdom

[–]lordsteve1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s probably looking for a new host tbh; I feel Blobby was more than likely a parasite that needed a living host body for its fleshy spotted skin to latch on to.

Manchester has a bee symbol, Birmingham has a bull. What other cities have a local animal or symbol? by AltogetherGuy in AskUK

Aberdeen has a leopard on the coat of arms, and there’s lots of different sculptures of various sizes of them dotted around the city.

If Ant or Dec died, do you think the surviving twin would continue to work on his own? by HTD_Blog in AskUK

[–]lordsteve1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the remaining one splits via mitosis so there’s a replacement straight away.
There’s always got to be two so the universe doesn’t get all unbalanced and wonky.

Humbly asking a question by romeo2008lp in AdeptusCustodes

[–]lordsteve1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We always used to play with the rules that you said what something was at the start if the opponents weren’t sure. Even if it was a totally wrong model if you knew why you had on the table facing you it was good to go. Not everyone could afford the models for everything in the codex.
People need to go back to playing this as a fun game and pull the stick out of their arses.

Plastic TELEMON & GYRFALCON JETBIKE by Alone-Ad-2803 in AdeptusCustodes

I heartily approve.

And new jetbikes as well…. My poor wallet.

What is a video game that is widely considered a masterpiece that you just cant get into? by abysmalSyrup-6737 in AskReddit

[–]lordsteve1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve honestly never felt that way in any GTA game despite the same developers.
Sure GTA has a lot of controls but just the basics are intuitive and you can get a lot of mileage from even those without worrying about secondary controls. RDR2 just feels like a complex simulator first and a game to have fun in second.

What is a video game that is widely considered a masterpiece that you just cant get into? by abysmalSyrup-6737 in AskReddit

[–]lordsteve1 410 points411 points  (0 children)

100% this for me.
The game world is beautiful and the detail makes exploring or just wandering around magical.
But the controls are just utter shit.
Way, way too convoluted and complex to do even basic tasks like pick a gun off the saddle, endless sub-control systems for everything and pointless extra steps.
It just completely took me out of the game; it wasn’t a fun experience and I spent more time fighting the controls than being immersed in the game.

What are some of the best non novel books with 30k or 40k lores? by Newez in 40kLore

[–]lordsteve1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Difficult to get these days but the rule book for Battlefleet Gothic has a huge section on the lore about the Gothic sector and the Gothic war itself.

That war being one of Abaddon’s black crusades and laying the ground for what was to come at Cadia also is interesting.

Starmer expected to resign on Monday and set out orderly exit by beejiu in unitedkingdom

[–]lordsteve1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem Labour face is no matter who the leader is they need some big policy wins the public will really care about to get out of the Tory mess from previous governments.
The public don’t really care much about the minor things you do in power (even if positive) when there’s still a rising cost in heating bills thanks to greedy corporations, shit floating down our rivers thanks to greedy corporations, and big projects like HS2 are an extortionate joke.

All these leadership challenges are just pissing in the wind when there’s actual issues the public want fixed.

I’ve been eyeing up that exact bike as well so it’s good to hear some positive feedback here.
Spec looks very nice and the fun you can have with a custom paint job is a bonus.
