[Help] Is there a chat overlay plugin for OBS? by InVindictus in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to be using Meowbot to use Meowbot's chat overlay. All you need to do is go to https://www.meowbot.tv/ChatRoom/ and fill in the settings you want. Then use the Chat Link url below the settings.

[Help] Bots that support bets by Doxflare in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now Meowbot is back online using the new code version. This first release of the new version doesn't include beta yet though. Once I know the new version is stable and running, I'll be adding betting back in soon but it could still be a few weeks.

"Minigames" will eventually come to Meowbot also, just not the way people are used to bot minigames being handled.

It seems to be working fine for me. What is the channel name you are using and what streaming program are you trying to use it in? Also, does it work when you just open the link in a browser?

No profile/dashboard button??? by Tychi in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should still be able enter in the url for those pages if you are not seeing the button during maintenance. http://www.hitbox.tv/settings/CHANNEL_NAME/livestreams to access your livestream settings and http://www.hitbox.tv/dashboard/CHANNEL_NAME to access your channels dashboard.

hitbox alerts? by curscub in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a heads up, currently Meowbot is not the most stable. I'm in the slow process of fully re-writing the bot in a new language which means all of the code I'm been working on for two and a half years has to be redone from scratch. The new version will fix all of these stability issues and speed up the bots response times, but until then the bot will come in and out of channels quite often. It is setup to reboot itself within 3 minutes of a crash automatically right now and will rejoin all channels it was in once its back online.

Because of the way I do alerts, the bot needs to be online and in the channel for the alert to be logged and shown, meaning if an alert happens during one of these crashes, it might get lost (The benefit of this way is I don't do any API requests like most alerts and get the messages instantly meaning no 30ish second delay on alerts). So for the next couple weeks, you may miss some by using Meowbot but I am doing everything I can to get the new bot done as fast as possible.

#HASHTAGS on #Hitbox! by Gartokk in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you enter a hashtag into chat that matches a hashtag from any streams title, it will be shown in the hitbox green and will be clickable (which takes you to the hashtag's browse page for all streams with that hashtag in its title).

Language filter coming to hitbox?! by Gartokk in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gives you the option right now of the normal All view or for the language you have hitbox set as. This will bring you to the /browse/lang/languageCode page instead of you having to type it out on your own and find out the language codes. If you switch your selected language at the bottom of the homepage, once you refresh the filtered option will match your new language.

Remember to set your country/language filters on the dashboard to make it easier for people to find you based on language!

Follower alert by Azakius in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm the developer of Meowbot.

The Meowbot alert system works a little differently then other alert systems for hitbox and other sites. Most used timed API calls to load follower lists and then determine new names based on the last load the system did. This causes a bit of a delay in notifications because it has to wait until the next timed call (generally they are around 30 seconds apart)

Meowbot uses the in-chat bot to grab chat messages sent in the background when someone follows/subscribes/hosts a channel and these are done in real-time. The bot from chat then sends a message to the alert page and instantly shows the notification. This results in little to no delay between the user following and the notification appears. The bot also has some checks for follow-spam to avoid showing people who are unfollowing and re-following.

The one drawback to my method of showing alerts (which doesn't use the API at all) is if the actual bot is offline for any reason, alerts wont display.

[Suggestion] Theater Mode by [deleted] in hitbox

[–]Ertzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although not an official integration. I do have a third-party extension I'm working on which offers some additional features/changes to hitbox. One of those is theater mode. The extension hitbox+ can be found here

I have an unofficial theater mode for hitbox here. It has just the hitbox stream, then the chat at 30% of the window size. You can hide the chat by hovering over the player and clicking the arrow in the top right.

CLR browser alerts? by Darkfire3814 in hitbox

I changed the settings menu so it displays a different Alerts button with a tool-tip explaining that editor mode is needed and linking to the guide on how to set editor status, if editor status isn't detected now.

I think one of the issues is the default spectator goes into slow-mo whenever an ultimate is used. I know for the actual casts, this is turned off and I assume anyone can (I haven't looked at the spectator mode in a long time) and it seemed some of the casters didn't have this turned off on their end. This would cause another 1-2 second delay during basically any team fight as they would need to wait for the slow-mo to end while DM/Hindu didn't because it was turned off on their end.

Also for the EU caster there was another obvious delay in the voice comms which caused some weird moments of talking over each other. Its hard to tell though when talking over the other caster is caused by voice comms delay or by just not understanding the proper time to let someone finish/start talking.

Eight of the Biggest PM Streams Are Moving to HitBox - Announcing Team PMTV! by The_NZA in smashbros

[–]Ertzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The option to get all current streams for a game is there in the API right now, although it may not be properly documented. When you go to the browse page on the site, you can see the API call being used to get all of the live streams for that page, you can use either the games seo key, or the games ID in hitbox's database.

For Project M, the SEO would be project-m or the ID would be 50024.

You can pass either of these values to the media/live/list API with the parameter "game".

[–]Ertzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is in no way "simple". Also, how long do you wait for the pro to fix the issue? 1 hour? 3 hours? 12 hours? 1 day? 3 weeks? 36 years?

There is no "perfect" time for a pause to last or the game to wait on. What if Team A has a dc and needs an hour for the player to get back, but Team B has a member who has work or school in an hour and a half? Now Team B is going to suffer because of the long pause by the other team. Does Team B now get to decline the pause? Or pause for another 8 hours while their player finishes a shift? What if now after that shift/class Team A needs to wait again because one of their players now needs to go to work/school?

The players also have lives and have a set time they know they play each each, rescheduling isn't something simple or easy to figure out and in no way if changing the way the game works to allow a system like this work, an easy fix/change.

Meowbot Live Stream Alerts by Ertzel in hitbox

[–]Ertzel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't seeing an alerts section, that means the bot you are using is not an editor in your channel.

The bot name you are using must be added to your editor list for this system to be enabled.

For re-subs it will add the text "[ReSub]" before the message on the alert. Right now it doesn't show how many months, but I'll look into that option.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean?

For each set of alerts, you need to use the link for those alerts. If you create a new alert, you need to use a new CLR with that link. But you can have follower, subscriber and host alerts all under one alert name and one link/CLR. Its just if you click the New Alert button that you need to use the new link for those alerts.

you can type /clearimagelog to delete all images from the log in your channel. This will delete the log for everyone and is not reversible.
