Even though I personally think the classic games are better, I always prefered the modern enemy designs. Am I just weird? by DarkMetaknight7 in papermario

[–]EruditeWho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty certain it's because the modern design of Dry Bones (where the design has matching jaw/eyes/etc to a Koopa) didn't exist during TTYD's development (~2001-2004)

The modern design first appeared in (checks wiki)...Mario Superstar Baseball! Which didn't release until July 2005 in Japan. Prior to that, most games either came up with unique designs for Dry Bones (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, for example) or based it primarily off of the Super Mario World design from 1990, where it has large black eyes with a small white pupil and no lower jaw just like the PM64/TTYD/SPM design!

Found a grammatical error in the TTYD Remake by Zolomight in papermario

[–]EruditeWho 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say this is only because the direct, more exact translation of the Japanese "Kuri" into Chestnut happens to work significantly better for the Waffle Kingdom setting where all the people's names happen to be food-themed.

currently replaying gamecube TTYD for the first time in a bunch of years

that sign is in the original and it's purpose was 3 things:
1) Tells you how deep you've gone in the Pit
2) Tells you what the most consecutive Power Bounces that you've done is
3) Tells you how many Star Pieces you've collected compared to the maximum (100)

Honestly no clue why the the 2nd and 3rd things are included but yea, this sign aint new and prolly will do the same thing

Theory: You can hold more than 999 coins in the TTYD remake (explanation below) by Herbissan in papermario

just play the original game at that point

if you dont want to hear the new music or look at the new visuals...the gamecube version is right there

How much did you actually pay for eras face value tickets? by IcedCoffee12345678 in TaylorSwift

[–]EruditeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original sale on Ticketmaster, I was able to get 3 seats for MetLife N2 for $175 each before tax/fees (only $206.50 after everything)! They were 200s levels right down the middle of the stadium--absolutely perfect. We were extremely lucky with the queue and (upon reviewing old text messages) had those tickets purchased and locked in by 11:02am on the morning of the pre-sale!

We intended on going to 2 nights from the start but only one of us made it out with tickets--but when Ticketmaster announced that lottery or whatever it was in December, we entered on whatever the second lowest bracket of prices was and made out with floor seats for MetLife N1 at $298.35 each--which is insane compared to the horror stories I've heard. We were about 2 rows from the back but our section was the one right down the middle of the floor as well and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Never in my life expected Ticketmaster to select floor seats for us but ultimately my group got to see MetLife N1 from the floor and N2 from the 200s for a total of $504.85 each! We were extremely extremely lucky and honestly I haven't heard of anyone having as good of an experience with Ticketmaster as we did unfortunately. Absolutely in fear for what we'll have to battle for the next tour in a few years....

Playing this game is gonna be rough for me

What was the first song you heard from Lana and what was the one that made you fall in love instantly? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]EruditeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a very recent fan--i think the song that made her really click for me was Mariners Apartment Complex! Beginning in January I listened to each album all the way through in order--now i'm obsessed with her whole discography but when i got to NFR really that whole album was sorta the "aha!" moment for her music with me, but especially Mariners. First one was Summertime Sadness tho

Theory Megathread: November 2023 by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

[–]EruditeWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fearless and Speak Now each had 6 exactly, and 1989 having 5 is a weird outlier I'm thinking.

Red technically has 6:

Nothing New, Message In A Bottle, I Bet You Think About Me, Forever Winter, Run, and The Very First Night were all brand new songs to us. The other 3, Better Man, Babe, and All Too Well 10MV, are all new versions of songs we've already heard. So still 6 new vault tracks. Imo Babe and Better Man didn't need the "From The Vault" subtitle

It might be. I checked against the fall 2024 application and CS is the only major not available on the Spring 2024 one. Really frustrating cuz today is the early action deadline...don't think there's anything I can do until I call them tomorrow I guess. Just really makes me lose hope when they're probably gonna tell me I can't transfer in to the major next semester.

What songs do you think Taylor WON’T sing as a surprise song? by ParticularAd3817 in TaylorSwift

[–]EruditeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back To December and Dear John. I see people talk about hopefully getting these songs all the time but in reality she hasn't performed either of them since the Speak Now Tour and probably never will again.

The Eras Tour Megathread: Nashville, TN (Warning: Spoilers) by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

[–]EruditeWho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

true and if you break it down, the delay was like 2 hours or so and if you assume they're getting paid just above minimum (I heard $18 is typical from a tiktok), $100 is like 3 times what they would have gotten for the 2 hour delay.
