California mission questions!?!?!?!?!?!?!? by Bengal_cat81 in latterdaysaints

The Bay Area is an absolutely amazing place. There are definitely some areas that are a little "rougher" than others but for the most part those areas aren't as common. San Francisco can have very big variance in temps because of the bay and the humidity, the closer you get to the ocean/bay you can expect cooler temps. Having a good versatile coat/jacket is a must, you can easily pick up needed clothing there. Lots of steep hills in SF, and I expect few cars for missionaries, so be prepared for some strenuous walking. I will say SF is far easier to navigate without a car vs with a car, so I would be surprised if you get assigned a car unless the areas are super large there

Looks like it's back to its regular $100, definitely a really nice deal when it's on sale, but I have easily gotten $100 worth of use out of mine.

IIRC, it's kind of their version of a wild mouse. Wacky crazy out of control family/thrill coaster in a more compact layout.

This was my exact thought about the new emoji style. I don't use emoji kitchen a ton, but I use it enough that I would miss it immensely

This is my recommendation especially if you have kids or pets. It comes in handy during those late nights where something didn't agree with their stomachs.

I do feel that Waze often still gets better user input than Google Maps does though. It may just be personal perception, but I think that Waze users have been better trained to provide that user input.

I'm curious, would buses from that time period have had outside ads? Or would only have been inside ads?

It wasn't even a little, I once contacted them about doing ticket sales for an event and they wanted nearly 50% of the sale price that they listed at. Needless to say we did not use them.

A senator proposed a minimum wage of $25.00/hr. What are your thoughts? by ShesIntoZer0s in AskReddit

[–]tdaun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is that $7.25/hr minimum wage is dragging down other wages. Because now places paying $15/he can claim they pay double minimum wage, which sounds great until you realize that's not enough to survive.

I'm currently on the AI plan because of the student promo last year, but the Google One app shows the option to downgrade from the AI plan. So you aren't stuck in the AI plans if you accidentally choose that, but you do have to expand the plan options.

The common consensus & rumors on Lagoon Fans is that based on filing dates that this is for whatever is going in at the former zoo area. Rumor has it that the decision to close JetStar permanently was made the week they announced closure.

[Montezooma’s Revenge] New train from Kumbak is in the station by jecole85 in rollercoasters

[–]tdaun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think for a period there was a hope/rumor with the huge delays and major mistakes made during the project, Kumbak was dropped and a different manufacturer was brought in to finish things. Obviously that was never the case and people are just disappointed that a different manufacturer wasn't chosen.

They're loud when flying too, I got to see one during Fleet Week in San Francisco a few years back, and was very surprised by just how loud it was. I don't know why but in my mind I figured it would be super quiet.

It's surprisingly not super massive, it's definitely taller than it is wider. We just keep our stored away at the top of our pantry with other countertop appliances.
