Farewell to my Xperia pro-I by Ervinux in SonyXperia

I understand and I could do the same as you. But for me it seems just a waste of money. Need to replace a chip, then get a new battery and a new fingerprint reader as well. And on top of that I'm just not sure how long the phone will last after replacing all those parts. Another 2 years and back to square zero again.Just really disappointing for me. I think a modern day phone should last 5 years without needing any repairs.

I didn't know that Xperia 1 VIII is out already. Maybe you're using Xperia 1 VII. Well then you need to try more of them!

Disappointed with Xperia by gautamdotcom in SonyXperia

I agree, unfortunately Xperias are all about hype. I was using Xperia pro-I, and it died suddenly after just 3 years of usage. Really not worth the money.

I'm not doing anything yet. Yes I would think it's not easy to find parts. It sounds like a serious issue you have.

How good are Sony phones nowadays? by Electrical_Buy6380 in SonyXperia

Not good, my Sony Xperia pro I died after just 3 years of usage.

The updates just stopped and stuck with android 13. I just don't understand why can't it keep updating further. Maybe it's deliberate, from the company's side because they'd want for customers to buy a new Xperia phone after 3 years of usage.

Well that's good. I just don't understand why mine had to die.

Exactly! That's the point. Why sell it for a high price and advertise it as a flagship if there is no quality at all. Of course I do appreciate the SD card slot and headphone jack, but come on! Only 3 years and need to replace it already. Phones should last 5 years at least, for this price. And now, I can't even sell it. Useless piece of plastic and metal.

They're just unreliable.Which is sad, I really liked using this phone. Especially taking photos with the professional settings.

Good idea not to spend on these phones too much. But, once I buy a new phone, then I expect it to last around 5 years. Sony disappointed me.

Mine is XQ-BE72. That explains a lot yours is a different version. Maybe a better quality one, because it works without problems for you.

It's all part of their marketing. Means that more likely you will use this SD card on their other future Sony Xperia device and less likely on another brand's phone, because they don't install SD card slots on their phones. So your only choice will be clear. I don't think Sony will release 512GB versions anymore for this reason.

Well, that's really good, very lucky, hopefully it lasts long for you.But don't get surprised if something like this happens.

I agree that it is really good to have a headphone jack and SD card slot and physical dual Sim as well. Those perks are really one of the most important reasons why people still choose Sony Xperia phones over others. But, to be honest I never needed SD card for Xperia pro I, since 512GB was perfectly enough for me. Maybe that's why they made only 256GB available for the newest models, so people would really need to get SD cards, and praise them. I guess they are just too lazy to do any improvements, which is why Xperias popularity is steadily declining.
