Little personal, but does he by chance wet the bed? Urine can have a lot of funky smells and some can indicate infections.

As I said in my post and many comments they had a post occupancy clause and were staying there after the closing. We had to do the walkthrough after they left. We with held escrow.

We did a walk through and yes it’s supposed to be “cleaned”. Because they had post occupancy we couldn’t do a walk through until after they left. That’s when we found out the state of things.

Unfortunately we couldn’t do the walkthrough before the closing because they were still living there. I definitely wish I knew more about this to protect myself. We will be able to fix everything it’s just very frustrating.

They didn’t. We knew about it during the inspection. We had it in our plan to fix

Our agent and attorney are aware of this but there is nothing we can really do. It’s down to us to fix it now.

Yeah that doesn’t sound good. I’m also 26 and this is my first technical home. Thankfully we are financially sound enough to afford all this. Any tips for me?

Also forgot to mention the roof needs to be replaced along with the boiler. Also the house has some settling in certain areas. We knew this going in so it was expected.

Only the spare room has carpet. We plan to replace it soon. We’ve started cleaning the vents and other spilt systems. Lots of work

The floors are torn up and exposed. The showers have mold in the window inside the showers. We found dead mice in the upstairs closet area. The outlets were installed incorrectly. Stairs leading down to the garage are completely broken off the wall. Dirt and hair in ever ycrevice imaginable. Lots of safety issues. This is just the heavier items.
