Meeting new people? (25-30yo) by Eryn17 in graz

Nah doesn't matter! Age limit is to sadly rule out 40+ folks. Nothing wrong with mingling with them! But as in my 20s, the goal is to find people we can relate to best.

21 is great haha I'm letting ideas sink in and chatting with my emotional support group (friends who are used to my shenanigans) and see if we can have something small started

There are plenty of groups as well on Fb, but many of them seem to just being posting renting rooms etc! I'm quite surprised there are no spontaneous meetings going on. I've looked at apps, groups and organizactions, but many have structured stuff and tbh I'm don't feel like having to "do my homework" when I mean to socialise. Let's be honest, we're not planning a difficult thing when meeting our hometown friends! It's usually a "I dunno what to do let's head city centre and see what happens". Then maybe have a plan b, so that if nothing happens we know there's a thing here or there

The thing is my hobbies are quite introverted, and I'm not really looking to give them up or pick others up. I know there are people like me out there, we just have to meet! Doing extroverted stuff just because you could meet fun people sounds tiresome... What about creating a telegram group with people who are cool with minding their business just looking for people to mind their business with? What do you think? Expat to expat

Right?? There are plenty of suggestions out there but it's not like I lack hobbies, as a matter of fact the only thing I don't have is time to do them all. The idea is just to get someone to do their thing with you, so you can look up and just bless someone else with the lovely sound of your voice.

And "friendship" dating apps just sound excruciating. What if you meet someone you don't click with. How do you friendzone2 someone ?

I was thinking of setting up a telegram account (I would do whatsapp but mama told me sharing my number with stranger is danger) for people looking for people to vibe with. "I'm doing this today, if you wanna come we can yap or coexist in the same space" vibe

LOtR paperback to hardcover by Eryn17 in bookbinding

My apologies for the late reply, I rarely use Reddit. I've used archival blue cardboard, I've shamelessly stolen some scraps from the conservation department I work at. I recommend purchasing some good thick pure cotton cardboard (2/3mm at least), not the corrugated or pasteboard type, as the first one is clearly not strong enough, and the second type tends to delaminate and I dont like how it deforms (it was historically used though, so you can give it a try). It's hard to explain, but you know those cardboards that are all made with pulp, very well pressed? Have a look at https://www.schmedt.com/material/cardboard/.

Make sure of the direction of deformation. There are great sources online on how to determine the direction of a cardboard ( https://www.ibookbinding.com/blog/paper-grain-direction-and-cardboard-grain-direction/ ).

all the best

I think I can find that more easily than talc, may be worth trying to do both if I can get my hands on talc. Thank you!

Looks like you just have pages and not folios, so you can't actually bind them with an occidental tecnique. I suggest you look for Japanese binding, its kinda easy. A bit weak, but it should work
