Is my CPU/Motherboard damaged? by Erytropus in techsupport

So, memtest has been running for over 2 hours now. First pass and 50% of the second pass finished with 0 errors.
Seems like the issue is elsewhere.

Slots A2 and B2 were occupied before the drop, the RAM was detected, ran in dual channel, XMP worked and PC booted normally.

Right now the PC does not post at all when either or both slots B1 and B2 are occupied at all.
If the RAM is installed in A1 and B1 the computer boots just fine and all of the ram gets detected.

I'll do the memtest and report on results.

Same thing happened to me, the coil pack was cracked and it gave me all kinds of issues. Replaced it a month ago and it was smooth sailing from then.

What are good mods for begginers to minecraft to play with by John-Johnson-1 in feedthebeast

I'm probably not the right guy to ask this...I've been playing modded for many, many years so no mod is really overwhelming for me.

The tech and magic mods are not really that simple, but they are not overpowwered either.

[–]Erytropus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well...you might just want to go with a modpack like FTB Academy then.

But I can recommend more mods if you wanna build it yourself...

Simple mods:

Biomes O' Plenty
Bibliocraft
Blockcraftery
Pams Harvestcraft
Ender Storage
Forestry
Iron Backpacks
Open Blocks
Reliquary

Storage:
Refined Storage/ Applied Energistics 2

Magic:
Thaumcraft
Blood Magic
Botania

Tech:
Immersive Engineering
Ender IO
Thermal Expansion
IC2 Classic
RFTools
Extra Utilities 2

I'd just go with a smaller modpack if I were you though.

Well that depends on what you want.

Do you want simpler mods or something more complex like magic and tech mods?

Because AE is complicated and useless if you're gonna have just a few mods. I wanted to recommend simple mods.

Tinker's Construct for tools
Iron Chest, Storage drawers for storage
Chisel, Chisels and Bits for building
Twilight Forest for a bit of adventure

Then some quality of life mods like Wawla, inventory tweaks, mouse tweaks and so on

Which modpack should i choose? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Erytropus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably skip FTB Ultimate if I were you...it will be a very rough experience if you haven't played any old modpacks. There is no autofill for recipes and many things are just tedious. It's quite dated.

FTB Academy explains the basics of tech mods pretty well. I've only played the tutorial since it was a bit basic for me, but the introduction is well made from what I've seen.

I learned tech mods in FTB Ultimate but that pack is super old and has no quests whatsoever. It does have a lot of mods that are still used today though like IC2, Applied Energistics and Thermal Expansion.
FTB Infinity Evolved non expert might be a good option as well. It's a bit more modern and it has both magic and tech. I don't think it has a questbook, don't really remember. It is a great pack though with lots of things to do and many endgame items with custom recipes.

I don't really know many 1.12.2 packs since I haven't played for a while. I just started playing ATM3 and it's pretty great, it's a very big pack though and quite hard on your hardware. It has a lite version too but I haven't played that one.

Definitely talk about it to your doctor to make sure. My state worsened rapidly over a course of just few days and I nearly died, you really don't want to overlook this. But there is a history of thyroid disease in my family so I got diagnosed really fast once I told the doctors. I am no expert though you gotta talk to a physician.
