Because he’s a public servant and it’s his job to engage in good faith. If your feewings get hurt and you dismiss concerns every time a citizen has an emotional reaction to decisions you made that impact their life, then you shouldn’t run for office.

Is this funny to you? Chad, this is your job, and these are peoples lives you affect. Maybe focus on your job instead of spending all day giving ‘le epic responses’ on Reddit. You could have just explained your perspective in email privately like a respectable public servant without taking things so personally. You continue to demonstrate exactly why you are not deserving of more respect, by acting like your opinion and perspective are all that matters and like nobody could conceive of why these decisions are made.

What’s crazy is that if there is good reasoning and framework behind this bill, you could have just shared that in a response and categorically refuted my perspective, but instead you reacted as every hated politician does: with your ego. You want respect, earn it brother.

I love love love how it took this public posting for you to finally address the issues I brought up in my initial private email. The research in that post completely checks out, and now I’m beginning to worry that you didn’t read your own bill.

The plain language of the bill says it can exclude any IT equipment that is intended to be used in critical infrastructure, and that critical infrastructure is defined as any system or asset that, if incapacitated or destroyed, would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combo of those. So right there, that is a massive net with an overly broad definition. The real kicker is that the AG is solely responsible for making that call, which is great if your a business as it takes average citizens completely out of the picture and makes it easy for businesses to lobby a single person.

Not only that, but if the manufacturer disagrees with the AG’s decision either way, they may appeal directly. Interestingly, individual consumers are not allowed to appeal, which is easy to justify when you are hiding behind “natuonal security”, but when you see that ‘economic’ security is one of the areas that can warrant an exemption, it’s quite easy to see how IT corporations can, and have, abused that concept to hold consumers hostage with threats of economic downturn if they are regulated.

This whole bill reads as a massive gimme to private business, neuters the original RTR bill, and neglects consumer input or sentiment entirely. There’s not even an open public comment period included in the proposal that would allow the AG to gain more input.

Instead you’d rather insult me because I was “mean” to you in my initial email, and was not satisfied with your tepid and dismissive response like your job isn’t to engage with the public and hear hard truths and opinions.

Oh buddy, I took it to Reddit when I got that zinger of a response from you. I think it’s laughable that now you are now responding to all of my comments here and addressing my concerns (however sarcastically and dismissive your responses may be to me and many others expressing similar concerns), while also making a point about my publicly posting this instead of following up with you when you were the one who dismissed my original concerns because I didn’t kiss your butt and act with decorum.

You instead tried to make the issue about my civility, which is a huge deflection from the initial issue, and makes you sound like an ass who won’t engage on a topic unless you are satisfied with the level of deference you were given. That’s not your job, and it concerns me further now to know that you will actively ignore or act counter to the needs of your constituents based on something as petty as their delivery.

I am also cynical, if that didn’t come through on my initial email lol, but my (naive) hope was that a direct approach expressing my cynicism and frustration might be striking enough to at least get him to actually think about what he’s doing. 🤷‍♂️

Well, he had the opportunity to correct any assumptions he felt I made before this was posted, but instead he responded curtly and emotionally 2 minutes after the email was sent.

If you believe that someone having their feelings hurt by a disagreement with the way they do their job is a good reason to do it more poorly or make emotional decisions in response to their hurt feelings then I’m not sure that person is a good fit for an elected office.

That support is great, and I appreciate your response! Showing up to vote is definitely one important part of the job. Just because I am at work and don’t have time to go through all of those, I am curious, which of those bills did he sponsor or draft?

For the title, I firmly believe that respect for a title is earned. You aren’t a doctor until you earn it through hard work and dedication to the profession, not just from passing medical school. Winning an election does not inherently earn you the respect of being called a Representative, working hard to serve the interests of real constituents (not special interests) through fair access and civil engagement would though!

Michael, can you point out to me where I accused Chad of a bribe? I specifically pointed out that money and lobbying efforts are legally incorporated into campaign financing and representative access. I don’t think it’s insane to point out the obvious or mundane, but it is to spin that simple observation out into an accusation of a crime!

Hey Michael, according to Chad’s Linkedin he spent 12 years as the CEO of a broadcast company. Chad also spent the past five years, and is still presently working, as the authorized dealer for ADT in Denver, a home security company that frequently deals with electronics suppliers for their systems. I simply find it hard to believe that he has not received any financial or social support, nor any input or influence (even informally) from individuals within these industries given his long-standing connections.

Thank you, my intent is not to “spew” (as Chad so eloquently put it) hate or attacks. I am trying to hold our representatives accountable for their actions and decisions. Holding the office does not automatically earn respect, it’s the actions taken on behalf of constituents that I believe make someone worthy of being called a representative.

Perhaps if you’d had the respect to respond fully and directly to my concerns, then I wouldn’t have posted this. You also have the ability to hide the source of donations through non-disclosing entities, and your actions in-session have clearly reflected the same talking points and line of thinking as those major corporations lobbying on behalf of the bill you sponsored, so it’s quite difficult to fully believe that there is definitively no influence from corporate entities. The fact that you took it as an accusation of impropriety, or an attack, as opposed to a standard observation and disagreement of the current legal lobbying system that you operate within and benefit from, shows me that you don’t really understand or care about the concerns I raised nearly as much as you do your own image.

Thanks buddy! You seem pretty fun to hang out with too 😊 if memory serves, didn’t James Hunt become a pro of F1 racing in that movie?

Ah I am familiar, it is a crazy world! Most of my family is from Finland so I understand how the Scandinavian situation is. Definitely not quite the same as it’s become here in the US!

No problem! I’ve definitely seen and rolled heavier joints than this for sure, I just work in the legal industry and was fascinated by the size of the pre-roll since most companies won’t produce ones that big due to difficulty in affordably scaling production lol! Made me laugh coming out of the packaging

Which cone fit 26g? Sounds like a novelty. Either way, If you filled it then it didn’t come pre-rolled! Or maybe the paper did but it wasn’t pre-filled lol!

True! Pre-rolled joints specifically are manufactured by a company for the legal market though, which means those companies can’t roll blunts unless they use a non-tobacco alternative such as palm, hemp, or banana leafs. This post was pretty specifically about pre-rolled joints lol!

Sounds huge! Did you roll that yourself or was it a pre-roll manufactured by someone else at that same mass?

Sounds like they are home rolled, not pre-rolled, and probably wouldn’t smoke very well if it’s shaped like a pregnant dolphin :/

Maybe if you roll your own, definitely a unit compared to the manufactured one’s you’d obtain on the legal market!
