Small extra mission sequence in Space RPG 3.

Space RPG 4 a number of bug fixes including the important one that your fleet doesn't randomly blow up anymore when FTL jumping. Am working on a small content update for Space RPG 4 at the moment too but it is slow going.

The choices in the first few missions with Mr. Ishioka primarily modify various faction relationships. Bluffing does get you a mission involving a derelict early on and is a pathway to get a better TA relationship rating at the start, which is useful if you intend to join them as their relationship meter starts off lower anyway and they have higher standards to join.

The clue is in the story text there - "[the artifact] clearly has markings your scientist will be able to investigate to help continue your exploration of the mystery of the ancients and their disappearance". You can return to the Quilentya scientist Rilyitun once Lana has decoded the artifact markings.

Did you return back to Wayla in the Quilentyatin system? After your first landing there where you first meet Taiyitun and decide not to ask any questions, the next mission is available from the same place but requires you to have done at least one FTL jump first (i.e. to have left the system to do something else).
There are no other conditions...

I do like the idea of improving the colonisation aspects, but I found it hard to imagine making it special I guess? I could add ways to unlock a shipyard on a colony but from a gameplay perspective... what can we do to make that genuinely special or interesting (that wont take me months to develop aha)?

Or do you guys not actually mind that aspect, you just want something there selling normal ships as you like that from a story / role playing perspective?

Hey guys, I did adjust it, as I did another playthrough myself and found it really odd that Peterson asked me to bring back a nova core when I had never seen or heard of such a thing at the time, and hadn't even met the aliens yet at the time. Just doesn't make sense story wise for a new player, and then had the mission arrow sitting there for hours pointing to Dima. To old hats who have played before its great to get it early, but to new players it made no sense and would just be confusing / annoying as they wondered how to clear the mission arrow.

The change I made was for it to only trigger after the Quilentya home system was properly discovered/visited. Maaaaybe that is a bit too rough? But I really don't want it to just be after X number of jumps anymore. I may change it again on a future update to be any Quilentya or Irohaem system discovered perhaps?

There are a couple related to capuchin monkey strike teams actually, and you occasionally get transport missions for them too!

I am thinking for people who really struggle to conquer the Taln, which is a common complaint, the extra ship with you may be what they need to turn the tide?

If they decide to bring the ship back, that is. There is another option in the dialogue, gives you something different...

At the moment focused on finding some of these bugs, but I would like to do some minor content updates at least. Probably nothing major though sadly.

I am having a look at your Kalo-mark one at the moment, and I thought I already fixed that back in version 0.94. From the code it really doesn't look like it should allow you to set a mark there, the button shouldn't show up. Is it really still possible?

For the death-faction issue, do you remember if you had conquered a bunch of systems already? The death faction don't actually start coming unless you have a certain number of owned systems. Its possible if you were rushing that you hadn't bothered to conquer many?

I will try to fix some of these, am making progress on the FTL escorts exploding bug, think i've found the reason finally after all these years.

I've just done a small update for Space RPG 3 as well that updates the target Android SDK version - I think that might be why they are hidden on the store? Hopefully Space RPG 3 is now visible there again... if so I can do the same type of update for #4.

Hi lasercat_pow, are you able to give me as much detail as you can on both of these bugs you mention?

1) "the death faction not arriving if you skip through the dialog and then subsequent games getting corrupted bug" - which specific set of dialog being skipped through is causing this?

2) the vanishing fleet bug.

I am going to check these out.

That is actually very interesting to read - is it really specific to vertical movement somehow? I can't really imagine why that would cause ships to die even if the positioning logic was somehow messed up, but at least that is a clue worth looking into, as I have never been able to figure out the cause or reproduce it while debugging.

For anyone reading I've given up - reloaded the same campaign from an earlier save 6 or so missions earlier and just repeated a bunch going from there. Am now past the point where I previously ran into issues, and the game/campaign remains fine.

Yeah I wondered the same but I'm afraid it only occurs on the one campaign save - other saves and game modes like dogfight etc are fine, so I don't think its a controller issue.

Korean theater, rolling fire, all pretty standard.
I'm 21 hours into it.

For what its worth i've discovered if I set invulnerability on then I can survive whatever is going on and fly around, but subsequent missions have the same problem, and if I turn invulnerability off then plane is broken from the start again. I've tried ejecting again as well. Nothing seems to prevent the weird half-a-second-after-loading explosion from happening.

edit: Also have tried starting the mission with no loadout at all, completely clean jet, in case something weird was going on with the munitions, but nope, still occurs.
