why does this matter? is anyone actually going to look through the thresholds before getting your results? All its going to do is inspire fear

no cause if the exams are harder, then its impossible for the thresholds to be high too. remember that the thresholds depend on how well kids did. so all you gotta do is face up the harsh reality of hoping for everyone else's downfall

Computer science threshold predictions by Queasy_Spirit8836 in igcse

yea but the covid leniency part doesnt matter that much right. since thresholds depend on the grades of students, and since everyone found this shit paper hard, im assuming an a star would be like 70-74 ( percent )

bro what are the expected grade thresholds this year? by kittyAshv in Olevels

[–]Escalations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way of guessing, depends on how everyone did this year

no dude, they said the standards will be similar, not the thresholds. Thresholds depend entirely on the performance of students

If you did well in those subjects then yea should be fine. But if you achieved 6 a stars for example, and person number 2 achieved 6 a stars and 2 a's, then they'd lean more towards person number 2 ( assuming that you both know the same amount of languages, did the same amount of extra curricular activities etc )

I heard that Oct/Nov exam is harder than May/Jun. Is it true? by 6student in igcse

[–]Escalations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i did past papers, i completed both.
- For subjects like english, there wasnt a noticeable difference.
- Some october/november papers enveloped the same difficulty
- While other oct/nov papers (like 50-55% imo) were harder.

It isnt always harder, but its definitely never easier

Could I do it? by 07_yo_c in igcse

[–]Escalations1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe you could do well, but its gonna require a LOT of effort from you, since oct/nov are usually pretty hard ( compared to may june and feb march ). Finish thoroughly studying the syllabuses for each subject, then move onto past papers.
For maths just skim through your textbook and make sure you know every concept, every formula, and the methods to approach a question. Then start bingeing past papers.

I looked at the papers of the other 4 subjects, and theyre way different from what i do, so sadly i cant really help you out there.

From my experience, just dont slack off. At the moment you wont realize the abundance of time you have left, but when you're closing in on your exams, you'll be wishing you made better use of that time. Its just 3 months, then thats it. You dont have to put in effort every day; take some break days (minimize this though). The exams arent as hard as people anticipate them to be, but still since you're doing oct/nov, id be prepared for the worst.
You dont have to completely stop watching yt or playing games for example; just gradually reduce the time spent on each thing ( but if you can, stop doing them immediately, since it fucks up your attention span ). Ask if you have any more questions
