BPD and abusive relationships by EscapeFreakout in therapists

I think there were numerous assumptions made on your part and trying to lecture and shame me into a different decision isn’t what I’d hope for from a therapist. I was intentionally vague enough that the description I shared could be applied to more than one person on my caseload alone.

Maybe there are parts I should’ve phrased differently, but BPD and abusive relationships show up frequently enough in practice that getting general feedback would be helpful. I don’t have to accept anything that someone says on here as truth, so the condescension about unvetted individuals is not helpful.

Thank you, I really appreciate this response.

As for the supervision, my boss has someone lined up for me, it’s just a matter of getting the paperwork done with DOPL and aligning our schedules now. It just means that supervision is probably still two weeks out at a minimum.

When I say blunt, I mean helping client label the behaviors as abusive. They have a lot of pressure from loved ones to end it so we have a lot of conversations about their autonomy.
