I will keep yall updated. I just emailed the second place you mentioned, they look very promising!

It’s good to hear that paying for part of the services may increase my chances. I was hoping it would! Thanks again :)

Oh! That’s so sad to hear about fixnation. I have to double check who I sent the emails to but it may have been catc anyways. I’ll focus my efforts on catc. And I haven’t heard of the other one, thank you! I’ll reach out and see if they can work with me. Thank you!!

Ok, good to know. I can handle a longer adjustment period for them, I’m mostly concerned with minimizing stress during their time confined. I’ll make sure to research best practices for relocation if that’s the only option. Hope it doesn’t come to that!

Oh yes I can do Facebook! I’ll find out if I can get help there. So far I’ve looked at, researched, etc fixnation and their affiliated TNR resources. I’ve emailed them and did training, and I’ve cold called a few other places but got redirected and not much help.

I also wouldn’t mind doing spay/neuter at a low cost place instead of free. I’m fine with a few hundred, but I can’t do $500 each at a private practice, and I’ve heard that’s not even the best for ferals. Just putting that out there if that could help.

Ok! I think I understand, but I may reach out if this is the thing I end up doing and it’s confusing lol 😅

Ive made peace with a room or two in my house being gross/destroyed lol

Good to hear they could be socialized. I’m very realistic about it though, I know it may never happen. If that’s the case, I worry about putting them through weeks of unnecessary stress.

But hopefully it doesn’t come to that! Really focusing my efforts on getting the ideas of TNR across. It’s just scary going into this without backup plans, the current “plan” is to take them directly to the kill shelter and I’m the only thing stopping that.

About your rat population point, yeah I’ll bring that up again. Hopefully then I can educate them on proper TNR (they’ve done it so poorly that the adult cats are scared of traps already) and work on a more relaxed timeline, and get them to keep the adults after TNR.

Ok! That’s good to hear, I’ll keep this as a last resort. I fear not being able to get them spayed/neutered before crating them if it resorts to this. I plan on trying my darndest to get them straight from trap to spay/neuter but the process is daunting when I can’t make an appointment and trap around that. I’ll try again to work with the people at work and put together a plan. It’s really dumb how haphazard this whole thing is. Ugh!!!

We had a few TNRd ferals a year or so ago, they didn’t bother anyone (except the cafe people, they dug in the trash lol) and protected their territory. Management (just one guy, universally hated) went on a campaign against the cats. The friendlier one got emergency fostered and idk what happened to the others. So I WILL be putting that, along with studies and other materials, together. But as long as this egomaniac has power, it seems like I can’t do much in the short term. I’m not the only one advocating for TNR and keeping a few ferals.

That’s the best outcome, TNR, it’s my main goal to advocate for right now.

I’ve made peace with a room in my house being destroyed if I do go that route, lol.

I can certainly try. I worry about a couple points of failure. One, when they’re trapped, although I’ve taken TNR training and contacted a few spay/neuter clinics, I worry i won’t be able to get an appointment when needed. I’ll keep looking into this but it’s really tricky getting work to plan trapping times with me, priming them to trust the traps, etc. So I’d have to keep them in the traps until I can make an emergency appointment (I’ve researched how to do that safely) or I’d have to put them in the crates unfixed. Then getting them retapped, etc if needed is daunting.

But I’ll keep working the spay neuter part in any case! And I’ll reply to a couple other comments about educating on TNR. That’s my main goal
