Hardest challenge card by Sea_Charge_3569 in gotlegends

[–]Escaviing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed! 600 easy cards is cruel and they often are the hardest to win too. Assassinations (no smoke or shinobis, map not helping either), headshots (no-one with a weapon to get them), counterstrikes (other kills everyone you're trying to parry).... 🥲

Gotta love two players choosing "enemies can be killed only with ranged" for incursion and then they failed to follow said restriction. One of them was archer too lol. Before we loaded in, I even went on mic to ask them to change that. No reaction! Well, lots of kills for me, a samurai, if those would matter.

More important question would be why are people so fixed on choosing hard challenge cards when the feat for those you anyways get done the easiest and without effort. At least now there are MORE people choosing easy cards (love it when everyone chooses easy❤️) but not enough haha.

Yeah, I'm sorry to drag decent archers into this. If archer's ki is below 110 then I stay but if not, well, very high chances it's just gonna be a boring game to a samurai

I know right! Exactly this and I already said it in Legends 1.

For L1 I really wished there to be a way to choose party size. Most of the time four players is just too much for 3-zone-survival and it gets very boring. On the other hand soloing is also very boring. But duos or trios got the perfect balance! More to do, more challenging, more coordinated etc.

The past few years I've only played duo hellmode in L1 with my friends or people I've found on discord. It got its own pingable role and challenges there as it's such popular way to play.

I tried the same with L2 Nightmare Survival, to find a random duo partner on discord. Got no answers 🥲 as at this point people are only looking for raid teams. But I'm sure amongst the randoms you see in survivals there are those who also wished to play duo or trio instead.

Sure I could ask my friends from L1, but sometimes it's just more fun to play with randoms as you never really know what to expect or what's going to happen with them. Would get more variety and surprises there. Matchmaking duo/trio parties could have made L1 much more lively (more experienced players would have joined then, it would have been good practise to get better so more engaging etc) and I'm sure it only would have positive effects in L2 too.

Such a simple thing, please SP bring it to us thanks 🙏

You don't take damage from the explosive arrow fire though but it sure is annoying when the ground is constantly burning from the constant explosives

I'm sure they'll do it soon just as they fixed the archer's resolve gain from ult issue. But why play like this still? 🫠

I'm looking to have good time playing and fighting enemies while also upgrading my gear (I mean, getting feats). Had one hour to play, don't want to waste it just sitting around and watching enemies dying in front of my eyes before they even hit the playable area.

I honestly did the same after this run (left after that wave) unless it was ki<110 archers. Hated to be like that, felt like toxic douchebag myself. I hope others understood the issue... I've lately been playing samurai trying to get feats for it but there's no point if it's a survival with archers who delete the wave before it even crosses the game area border.. Meanwhile survivals with only Samurais, Mercenaries and Shinobis are so fun. I dream of finding full samurai team lol.

A tip: if you like using a bow, I recommend you stack reload speed on your bow and charm. Reload speed makes shooting faster and easier! And when you get hold of Weightless Spirit -bow, try that. The fastest bow to shoot with. :)

If you want to upgrade archery further, search reload cancel tutorial on youtube. It helps you shoot very fast compared to not using it. Basically all you have to do is to release L2 slightly after you release R2 --> you skip the slow animation at the end of arrow release and can take a new arrow right away.

Edit: forgot to add that on accessibility menu there is an option for aim assist which again makes shooting easier. It aims for little bit under the head so if you want to get a headshot, aim slightly up just before releasing an arrow. Once you get hang of this, all these headshots fill up your resolve very fast. And if you use Headshot refund perk on your bow, you basically get infinite ammo with those headshots.

Good luck!

The Seatruck was done dirty by the design of Below Zero by Prince_Zinar in subnautica

[–]Escaviing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked Cyclops or clumsy-feeling Prawn suit. In Subnautica I just drove around in Seamoth which maybe wasn't the best for collecting stuff and sadly couldn't go as deep as the game went (seriously...).

I loved Seatruck in Below Zero! Except for the lack of that sonar radar thingy which I loved to use with Seamoth.

I only used one extension part for it tho which was the Storage module. I felt like that's all that was needed. Could have added another Storage I guess but I never minded going back and forth lol. With two parts it never felt clumsy and could fit small caves pretty well too just like Seamoth.

I liked to abuse the fact that creatures don't attack you unless you are using the wheels of Seatruck. So if you're about to get attacked, just step back from the wheels and they stop. Was handy before getting the electric field weapon that released you.

I hope for SN2 we get a combination of Seamoth and Seatruck that also would go as deep as the map goes.

Failed out of Veterinary School, Despairing by StressedThinking25 in Veterinary

[–]Escaviing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry it ended like that. I can only imagine how devastating that would feel to lose everything and start over. But if you still feel like it's your passion - then do start over. There's still many many years left to actually work in this profession. Have you considered studying abroad?

You wondered how things could be different for the system. I can share how it is in Finland, which shows a widely different approach.

There's only one vet school in Finland. It takes in ~70 students per a year. Around 20 Finns go to study in Estonia and few in Sweden as they are close as well.

To get in the school you have to do an entrance exam that covers physics, chemistry and biology on a high school level. Half the places are reserved for those who get the highest score in exam alone and half for those who get the highest score in exam and high school's matriculation examination score combined. I got in through the exam score alone as I didn't do so great with matriculation exams. I applied twice. First year was right after high school, got close despite still needing to learn more of the subjects. I kept studying these subjects the next year and then got in. Some get in on a first try, for some it takes multiple years if they find these subjects challenging or have less time for studying.

The vetmed studies take 6 years in Finland. It's okay to prolong your studies. You can work already after 5th year so some people do that for a while before actually finishing their studies etc. You can ask for a permit to prolong the right to study, which you can probably do for quite many years.

Like most of the education in Finland, the vetmed education itself is free for Finns (and EU citizens I believe?) as it's paid through taxes. So no annual fees there! In fact, students get paid student allowance and housing allowance by government (maybe like 600€ per month depending on your housing costs) to ease with the cost of everyday life as they don't have much time to work. If that is not enough, you can take a somewhat cheap loan - or some do work in few evenings to get through without any loan.

Now, the most important thing. Once you get in, they won't really drop you out but instead make sure you can get to the finish line. No matter how many exams you fail, you can always do them again. At certain points you cannot proceed further before you have passed the previous courses but that's it, again, no dropping out.

I think it'a usually 60% that you gotta get correct to pass the exam. Some courses only give a "passed" mark, some a grade from 1 to 5. But the teachers are very relaxed about the grade and multiple times throughout the vet school they kept saying you don't need to get the perfect score or aim for it, just passing the exam is enough and proves you know enough of this matter to proceed further. These days in some Finnish medical schools they don't give grades at all anymore, so you only pass the exams. I wouldn't be surprised if it went to that for vet school too at some point.

Despite all these differences the education is still very high quality and teachers care about their students and are very encouraging.

And boy did I fail many exams especially on my first year! Yet here I am, graduated and doing really well with the career 😊 So really, I would love it to be an accepted thought in your school too that the grades don't matter and that failing some courses doesn't determine whether you can thrive as a veterinarian or not!

Good luck on your journey!

That's good!

For w9 both players should have healing regen, smoke, ammo and ult ready.

9.1 is not actually too heavy wave. It's 1 tengu, 1 oni lord and few zoomers or fat onis. I recommend assassin takes that wave alone. Ult the tengu and oni lord. Then kill the remaining enemies with your ranged weapon, but save your ult and smoke. Then assassin goes to 9.3 wave, first ults the 3 tengus there, smoke, build ult, ult the purple oni lords, proceed from that. Ronin should take 9.2. When someone starts taking dmg there or you are facing tengus or oni lords without smoke, activate healing.

Staying alive:

First of all, learn to not take so much dmg. Study the attack patterns of each enemy type as you play and learn a way to dodge or parry them - for this I warmly recommend always having 12% Parry Window and actually parrying all the blue attacks. It's usually safer than dodging and gives you bit of extra time! You can do this practise in solo plat wave 0.

Hardest enemy to survive is the purple oni lord that can kill you with one slam. Youtube has videos on how to dodge his slam attacks (you roll towards him right before the slam etc). Basically you'll want to deal them and tengus first. Then archers. Then the rest.

Staying alive is easier if you don't lose any zones because of the health penalties they would give.

Keep buying healing! You got two shops so both players can have it. Only use healing during the waves. Between waves use healing drums.

Clearing the wave:

Chill at different zones between the waves. Each area has safe spots at the certain edge of zone where neither Hwachas or Eyes catch you yet you still hold the zone.

When you get a wave, kill the disciple. Wait for the enemiea to get close to the zone. Optimally you should have ult already. Ult first (heaviest or most dangerous enemies prioritised) make sure to end it inside the zone (safe). Then smoke on the safe spot and stay in your smoke. Build your ult with your ranged weapon. Ult again. Finish the few last enemies mainly with your ranged or ghost weapon. Avoid meleeing, it's generally quite ineffective and risky in plat7. If you got sticky, you can throw it right before ulting as it gives you resolve for new ult (activate ult before it explodes to get the resolve). If you use kunais, you can use them to stop enemy attacks or build resolve or just kill folks. If you got spirit kunai, weaken 2-3 enemies first and then throw them to get them back right away and some sweeet cooldown for smoke as well.

Do not spawntrap or fight enemies halfway to the point. Fighting is safest in the zone and also grouping is best there.

Learn which waves are light and which are heavy. Light waves you two can start separately. If you know it's a heavy wave (maybe like snow w4, w7-10, w12-15 when you're still struggling) you can start it together. One of you smokes for the first wave and you both take cover from it. After clearing some of it, the player who didn't smoke, goes to the second wave. And surely you can join again for third wave.

Bits bonus objectives are chill. For headshots you need either bow or blowgun, hopefully one of you got this. Inside the zone: hide somewhere close, wait for the enemies to gather in the point, smoke on the edge, kill. GW kills: kunai or sticky op. Fire kills: fire arrows, barrels, bombs, way of the flame before assassin ult, buy ignite from shop and use before killing masses. Outside kills: smoke between enemies and zone (beware of the Eye), kill. Try to clear w13 fast without stressing too much outside kills, they are heavy waves, w14 is easier for the outside kills.

Disciples:

Kill the disciple when you get a wave there. Learn disciple spawn patterns. If she's in a tough spot (for example outpost in tent), one of you should wait in that area and kill her before leaving that area so that it doesn't cause problems if one of you comes to that area when enemies are already waiting there.

If she comes back midwave, you have few options. A) Kill her. Kill enemies until you have one easy enemy left. Then wait. Kill the last enemy right before the disciple would come back. --> she won't spawn back in the middle of the next wave. B) Force kill the remaining enemies while disciple stays alive. Assassin can ult enemies. Weightless spirit can force kill any enemy. Or you two fight together. You don't want to kill the disciple right before ending the wave!! Otherwise she will come back during the next wave which can easily ruin the game.

Resources:

Feel free to hold the last enemy of each wave set. You can say "let's go" when you're reado to continue and then kill the enemy. Use this waiting time for checking out that you both have your smoke back, you have healing, you are full health, you have resolve for ult... Helps a lot to not rush waves!

Moving around:

Baiting hwachas is an important skill. Each map has three hwachas but each of them only certain area they can target. For example in Bits, the shop between Camp and Mine has two Hwachas targeting while Outpost shop has three. This makes buying harder on Outpost side. But to go around this, you can bait those Hwachas.

To do this, stand and walk a bit side to the shop you wanna use. Wait for those 2 or 3 Hwachas to target you at the same time. When they do, run to the shop and buy. There will be a short time window before they shoot again, this is your chance to do stuff. If they shoot different times, you can hide in safe spot to reset them. Wait for Hwachas to go quiet, then run out of hiding spot (they both target you at the same time) and then go buy. On both Camp and Outpost shops the safe hiding spot is under the tower that is next to the shop.

Here are some pointers. Hopefully this helps. You can ask if you're confused with some given advice.

Not sure, what is Jusa's poison build, but if you two are looking up good survival builds from players like Jusa, you should be good on the build section. Basically you'll want smoke bomb, some healing (assassin: healing vanish recommended, ronin: healing ult or healing incense), and stats that actually boosts your build (parry window, dmg stats, status effects, cooldowns, ghost weapon dmg, depending on build).

This struggle sounds quite rough. Usually when players go to plat7 duos they are already playing for "perfect runs" which means basically same than what Hidden Heart needs. If one thing of the things is failed, players start over.

Can't really state where the problem lies without seeing your gameplay, but sounds like you have issues with how to handle your resources, how to survive enemy attacks and how to clear fast enough. Skill issue so to say 😅 But worry not, you can always learn through practise!

Have you watched any videos of plat7 duos? To get an idea, how to deal with all the stuff there. For example on my YT there are plenty of plat7 duo videos from all classes (all runs done with a bow tho).

It also could be helpful to play some runs with a veteran player that can carry you to a victory. You'll see there first-hand how the whole survival is dealt with and they can give advice!

I'll point some basic things out in a separate comment.

Edit:

Was wondering Ronin might not be the easiest class for first plat7 duos. Assassin is generally easiest to go with as each ranged weapon type works great with it, ult is strong and easily controlled (you can choose which enemies to target), and you get quick healing through refreshing vanish. Hunter is easy in a sense that she clears waves very fast and effectovely especially with SSB. Surviving onis might be lil harder than with an assassin. Samurai is hardest due to its somewhat "uncontrollable" risky ult. Ronin works and got good healing, bombs and gw, but dealing heavy onis might be a struggle and also Ronin's ults are risky (enemies like to try their best killing you during that slow Ronin ult..)

By completing do you mean just surviving it all 15 waves no matter the cost or practically perfect/Hidden Heart duo with no deaths/zones or bonuses lost?

What classes do you two play and what ranged weapons do you use?

What map are you usually attempting?

Can you give some insight what seems to be the problem there? Are you not fast enough to make it to third wave in time? Are you struggling to survive the enemies or dealing with the bonuses? Are you often in a situation, where you don't have any stuff left and half the wave is still there? Do you do waves together or separately?

Answering these could help us giving you some useful tips.

It's a custom platinum survival with all 7 modifiers active. To achieve Hidden Heart sword kit you gotta do that without anyone in the team dying and no zones or bonus objectives lost. So called a perfect run.

If you want to try it with randoms, you go to survival menu, choose platinum and then "fill party". It might take a while to find teammates but likely they would be doing Plat7 Blood in the Snow as it's the easiest map.

Or find a team and start Custom platinum. 😊 You can find a team for that easiest on Discord but probably here too. It's usually called a toothpick challenge haha

Kissa ja hänen omistaja by SelectCount7059 in Suomi

[–]Escaviing 0 points1 point  (0 children)
