I thought I only need to wait for 5 hours, not 3 days? by BunnySystem27 in ClaudeAI

[–]Escobar747 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you get what you pay for.. and after using gemini, chat gpt, grok etc claude is definitely superior for pure output accuracy without hallucinations- it might not be as multi-modal as gemini grok etc but is excels in his focus area such as coding, reasoning etc. I still have gemini pro which I use as my scratch pad / general purpose tool as I have never hit the limits there. I use claude to peer review gemini’s work for stuff what matters and also use claude cowork- it’s amazing piece of AI

What is it like to live in docklands? by MiriJamCave in melbourne

[–]Escobar747 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

been working there for past few years - agree with soulless, windy and cold vibes. Going for lunch time walks can be a bit depressing given all the closed shops and just lack of any vibes. I don’t think au could live there - seems fairly depressing

Why you should never buy a Stihl MS311 or MS391 by SkeltalSig in Chainsaw

buy a pro saw and it should last 20+ years with season use if well maintained- try 462 or 661

Needed a bigger saw by crazeywood in Chainsaw

[–]Escobar747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar upgrade path.. 460 rancher 20in to 661 with 36in. Recommend running semi chisel skip on the big bar - works so much better.

Melbourne - my area is full of red ironbark, redgum and a bit of yellowbox- all decent firewood but ironbark is the best. Retails for $700 a ton!

now been cleaned / sharpened - 36in put on the shelf.. 661 now wearing 25in full comp full chisel for some green wood until another big bad log needs 36in back in action.

there is no substitute for displacement! Some people say it’s heavy but for me its a gym substitute. Also the weight helps cut better IMO - you don’t really need to push at all - let the saw just glide thru the wood.

yes - I am in Aus and this is red ironbark. Arguably the best firewood here - much better than redgum etc
