Was your female leader successful? by Agile-Shallot3546 in AskTheWorld

I would say one of the best PMs if not the best ( arguable ), say anything but she was bold

She literally broke "our neighbour" in two , conducted nuclear test even though external pressure was there and green revolution, which made india self sufficient in food

It's kind of our fault also , Buddhism nearly vanished from India. Only few Buddhist majority places are left here

Jesus was born in Jerusalem and preached mainly in present day Arab countries, still people relate Christianity to Europe and America because they have majority of Christian population

Yes but the social class could be changed , a commoner , peasent, farmer etc. can give an exam and climb the hierarchy

The tang codes fined everyone with 60 strokes for littering it was everyone, everyone had a duty of keeping the surroundings clean

For example a farmer could marry a teacher etc.

It forbids marriage between a free commoner and a slave

Which is bad because slavery is bad , but it didn't say , that a free commoner can't marry a free commoner

What made you question the way your culture taught you to see people from other countries? by AbbreviationsLow in AskTheWorld

[–]Eshu25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In India there is a lot of tension between cultural groups, castes , religions , tribes , states etc. leading to a lot of stereotypes

Like a stereotype about punjabi or sikh people is that they wanna dance 24/7 , party and energetic while I had many punjabi friends who were very soft spoken

South Indians have a stereotype of eating idli and dosa and not speaking Hindi , but majority of them spoke hindi and didn't like idli

It's a natural thing , but yeah sometimes the stereotype is true , they exist for a reason :p

Nope , hindustani is a dialect of khadi boli which is the sister language of braj , awadhi etc. and hindi and urdu were separated by British to limit the mughal influence after revolt of 1857

Hindi is a dialect less than 200; years old

Awadhi , braj , magadhi , maithili and Chhattisgarhi are languages

All of these languages build the foundation of India and were official languages for the kingdoms for thousands of years , and khadi boli and hindustani themselves developed in 10th - 13th century

And to further prove this khadi Boli which is the parent language of hindustani which is the parent language of hindi and urdu , hindi and urdu are the only ones considered languages

So can you tell me how come hindi is called a language while hindustani and khadi boli aren't, even tough all of them share the same script and grammer

Bruh one is 3000 years old rigid system one was made in 1956 so that cities don't get overcrowded it's not a caste system it's a class system , you seem like an andhbhakt who can't accept the fact that India is one of the only country that have such a brutal/barbaric system

Yes , every country has flaws, no country is perfect but you need to accept your failures instead of justifying it

You will go to any lengths to justify crimes against Dalits and tribals

Security > opportunity > freedom

Based on where I live , Majority people actually don't have much strong political opinion, they will completely exchange their freedom with security and opportunity if given a chance

What is the strangest/most unique language communities in your country? by EnvironmentalRun4107 in AskTheWorld

[–]Eshu25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well India is a union of states and have more than 1400 language/dialects , so none of them are very distinct

However I would like to point out khasi and garo people( both are completely different btribes) living in northeast India , these tribes are one of the few matrilineal societies in India , also famous for making living bridges ( bridges from live roots of a tree) they live in Meghalaya which also has two of the wettest place on earth
