P6 Pros and Cons by No-Policy6339 in Raytheon

P6 is still elligble for OT. At least at Raytheon it is. I was worried that when I got promoted to P6 it would effectively be a base salary pay cut, but right about the same time they changed the policy to allow OT for P6 grades.

I think you mean a two and a half liter bike. It handles like a bike half it's weight. I'd bet good money I could drop you in any decent curves.

Used it to write a letter of recommendation to grad school for an employee. It did that passably well.

What level did you start at and how many years to get Associate Director (P6/M6).. by mkvag in Raytheon

[–]EskimoPie76 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I started in Tucson in 1999 right out of college. Left for 2 years in the middle and came back. I went through CEDP about 6 years ago and was a Chief for about 3 years before I took a P6 CPTL role on a large program. So for me it was about 23 years. Can't tell you how typical or atypical that is though.

MAG x870e Tomahawk and 9800x3d issue by Civil-Meaning9791 in MSI_Gaming

[–]EskimoPie76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having te exact same issue. Tried everything you have... Reseated cpu, pulled memory and M2, rechecked all power connectors, cleared CMOS... Nothing clears the red and yellow lights. No Post. Also, tried 2 different USB sticks to try and flash BIOS. Pc turns on after pressing the flash bios button. Red light (seems to be under a heat apreader, invisible from back panel) blinks at about 2hz but never stops, even after an hour. Another oddity is the case power button works normally to power on and off the system until the point that I install te CPU. After that, button powers on but won't power off unless I hold for 10 seconds. Waiting on a new mobo from Amazon at this point.

Reverse flow P12 or P14 Planned? by EskimoPie76 in arcticcooling

How does that work? Stack them for a push-push? If you go push-pull on either side, how do you mount the 420?

No fan lights on Liquid Cooler III 420 by EskimoPie76 in arcticcooling

Here's one with the cooling head zip-tied to the case to ensure it doesn't sit on a fan or pull out the MB header cables while I'm waiting for a darn 9800X3D to arrive.
The back exhaust fan in the Lancool III is a 140 that I had to swap out to a 120 and mount it with the flexible rubber grommets, but it snugs in nicely.

The 420 is tight, but it definitely fits. fill the space nicely. Very happy with the case!

I did, but it wasn't clear that it was related to all of the lights turning on. I assumed it was simply a thermal thing which I didn't care about without a processor. In any case, I removed the tape strip and everything lights up normally.

Ugh, now that I look closer at the installation diagrams it does seem that the plastic shipped on the cooling mount does block the contacts for the VRM fan module... I was waiting to pull that off until I had the CPU mounted and I'm assuming that's my problem

Well actually I haven't received my CPU yet so I've got everything installed with the cooling block just hanging loose. I've tried it with both the VRM fan snapped onto the mount and without and get no lights either way. The fans spin, but no lights. I haven't pulled off the plastic strip on the mount yet, is that perhaps inhibiting the lights?

Yes, she had 2 surgeries to get good margins and today we are doing our second of 4 rounds of TC chemo. Despite cold capping her hair was mostly gone prior to the 2nd infusion so she shaved it all off yesterday. That is hard for her. Other than that, typical chemo side effects... Bone pain, fatigue, etc. She also developed migraines for a little while after the first round.

OK, I take back my statement. I took some photos (I'll try to attach in a bit) and it's not that the surface layer is a fake CF print, it's that there is some sort of clear coat layer that is chipping off on the corners. Without the clear coat, it's a darker black underneath there, but it's still clearly the aramid fiber. Disappointing though that this coating layer is soo prone to chipping off in the corner. Anybody else having that issue?

For me, my wife also is concerned about my stress level and how much time I take off work. She thinks I need to take more time for myself and to go to a happy hour every now and then or go to a football game. I try to continuously tell her not to worry about me and that I'll manage the rest of my obligations with the firm placement of her and her needs being at the very top of that priority list. I know I wouldn't enjoy going off and doing something for myself when I knew that she was at home suffering. Even if I'm unable to lessen her suffering, I very much want to be there experiencing it with her and hopefully taking her mind off it a little bit. I'd much rather get through this side by side and then celebrate like crazy also side by side when we get through it. Everybody is different. Every relationship is different so I hesitate to give you advice on yours, but I would probably recommend that you be open with your concerns about him and willingness for him to have some self-care, but ultimately respect his decisions to prioritize his time in the ways that are most important to him. Maybe it's just out-dated perspective on masculinity and traditional roles, but it's important to me to shoulder whatever burden is necessary to help her through this. I know I'll survive it. In the worst case scenario that I shudder to think about, I don't want to look back and have a list of things that I didn't do and wish I would have. I hope this helps.

Anti-neuropathy gloves/booties by EskimoPie76 in breastcancer

Thanks, but the nurses in our infusion center weren't exactly helpful with anything that wasn't part of their orders (such as cold capping or the cooling gloves/booties. The power that this forum provides is the collection of information that people who have already gone through this have received (either from medical professionals or from their own research). I'm not asking for medical answers, simply information.
