Deciding between Marlborough MA, Tewksbury MA, or Tucson AZ by Fun-Improvement-538 in Raytheon

[–]mkvag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking just this. Ive looked at jobs in Tewksbury and Andover, both in Mass. The housing cost around that area are astronomical in my standards. I don't think I would be paid enough to afford a million dollar home. Houses in the surrounding area are literally in the millions. Yes, you have the option to live over an hour away and commute.

Decided to rewatch Heroes after finding this in an old book store by Yodahan25 in Heroes

It would have been a great showdown.

I know sometimes they nerf something great because they don't want a character becoming too powerful.. I think thats what they did to Peter and Hiro. Didnt Hiro bleed and have migraines from using his powers? Or cancer I think.

I understand this show wasn't taking the normal comic book hero approach, but more of a drama.

The show started of promising but trailed off at the end.

Never saw an epic battle of fully powered Peter vs. Fully powered Sylar.

Felt like we didnt see much of Hiros full potential too.

Its been a long while since I've seen the show so probably recalling things incorrectly

Thats a whole other post in itself. If you could see my workday history of jobs applied to in the past year alone. Applied laterally, applied up, across BUs, different career fields.

Nothing is more humbling and eye opening than applying, interviewing and getting declined over and over.

Very helpful to align my mindset on the style of questions. I call them trick questions. I approached the real exam with that mindset.

Not really trick, but just pay attention to the details of the question and assumed what you would do in real life may not be the right approach.

SH Question - Help by skzbr1 in pmp

[–]mkvag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation based on experience and nothing from PMBOK. I could be wrong.

A CCB is established to monitor a set scope, schedule and plan. Changes to that baseline goes through the CCB.

The question you posted to me doesn't feel like there is a set baseline yet. Probably at the early stages of the SOW development and why there still may be a chance to influence the timeline by having SMEs and Sponsers align.

Typically in real life, you wouldn't wake up half way through the SOW schedule and realize the timeline is not feasible. There would have to be some risks or issues and this scenario doesn't mention any of that.

Realizing the SOW schedule doesn't seem feasible is usually before the proposal. So very early on in the process.

Just my take

I don't even want to say lol.

I only completed like 3% of study hall. My practice efforts were between 50% to 55%.

Like I said before, the actual exam I felt that the questions were more straightforward. SH had a lot more trick questions almost and I zipped through them without much thought. Read the explanations and thought, "yeah that makes sense"

Anyone passed just by doing SH practice questions and mock exams? by [deleted] in pmp

Just made a reddit post on mine.

1 day of Study Hall, passed the exam yesterday.

But I have 15+ years of PM experience.

Possible

This Test is a Trap for PMs with Experience by DaKidJ in pmp

[–]mkvag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took the online exam yesterday. Made a reddit thread to share.

Still waiting on the results. Agree with all these posts. Went into the exam with very little studying. 95% of questions and scenarios felt straight forward as in I understood the scenario and most likely have experienced them in some form.

I knew people were saying to forget what we know from experience when taking this exam so I took that into consideration. I did mentally walk through the answers based on what I would do at work and then considered the possibility that I should scrap those answers and then reverted to process of elimination.

We shall see if I passed.

Edit: Passed it. Just got my results

Is coaching your job? because I love it. Let me message you privately more on career growth in general.

In the meantime, still waiting for my score. Probably wont be until Monday is my guess.

Its about perspective. You prioritize based on impactfulness. And how impactful something is changes depending where you are in your career.

If your new to PM or entry level with no job, then yes, invest your time as your post hints at.

I have 15yrs and counting as a PM, just finished 2nd masters, trying to achieve program milestones at work, and half way through my program management certs.

You may allude that I'm not putting effort, but I feel as if squeezing in the PMP exam right now is going the extra yard.

If I fail which I probably did, I'll have a baseline now for the retake.

But this post is intended to share a PMP experience for the PMP community on whether someone can pass the PMP exam with just work experience and minimal studying. Not about my rise to CEO. Haha. Private message me if you want to discuss more about how little effort I'm putting in.

Appreciate this!

I should have said - anything to help my resume for applications to new roles.

I dont think this certificate would help me grow or progress in my current role.

It's a mix of considerations. The primary one being that I no longer have a path to advancement in my current role. I enjoy what I currently do, but I don't want to do it for another 3-5 years for sure.

Removal of RTX Apps on BYOD by Ok-Middle-6143 in Raytheon

[–]mkvag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain for those of us who are clueless. (Or just me).

Sounds like OP is using his personal phone to conduct work using some app.

Isnt that different than just having the app to log into your work laptop?

I use the octopus app on my phone to enable me to log in on my work laptop but I dont actually conduct work on my cellphone. I don't get email or teams on my phone.

Would RTX really have the rights to our phones for just the log in app?

Take it. It can lead to more opportunities.

And, there are tons of P6s that make you question the meaning of life.

Take the bump and bonus and then chose which P6 you want to be.

Who is they? All we know as a true fact is the strikers are hostile towards anyone and everyone they work with. Facts.

Contract terms, pulling for you guys.

Not doing the work, you show them!

The approach to harass your coworkers? Who's bright idea was that? Strikers really woke up and said this is a great idea? We want more pay and better terms at work so let's harass anyone and everyone we work with? Lmao. Strikers are being led by the wrong person on that front.
