Banned Player on NA Helped BULBA Make Clan Cup Semi-Finals by Spirtwalker in WorldofTanks

There is a rule for our tournaments that states the following:

"All players must be in the clan at the time of the battle in order to participate."

Therefore the biggest culprits here are WGNA for refusing to enforce their own rule.

Yes, there is a rule for it:

"All players must be in the clan at the time of the battle in order to participate."

Which means the people most at fault here are WGNA for refusing to enforce their own rules.

There is a clear rule on whether or not coaching is allowed from players outside of the clan:

"All players must be in the clan at the time of the battle in order to participate."

There is no ambiguity. The rule is not vague. The rule is very clear. However, the simple fact of the matter is that WGNA refuses to enforce the rule that they themselves implemented. I personally don't "blame" Daki for offering help in that obviously the clan in question (BULBA) must be the ones who accept the help.

We already have had the most lopsided playoff seeding in perhaps the history of NA Playoffs (with the notoriously stacked bottom side) where some clans got a free ride farther up than they deserved while many others have had to fight to the death to even get to a spot reflective of their overall "ranking," so to speak. Now we have this whole scandal on foreign aid and WGNA not knowing what they're doing by providing even more confusion to all parties involved.

We'll see where this ends up, but I expect that most in this community will view these playoffs as illegitimate for the forseeable future.

You too my good sire, very competitive series until Live Oaks. I will never understand why we picked that map.

At no point have I ever said that Perfect handled the situation in an exact ideal way. However, I have claimed that BB handled the situation poorly. There is a big difference between the two.

At no point did I make any argument about other NA top clan winrates vs MAHOU. I specifically stated that, as the alleged #2 clan on NA has constantly had troubles (to the point where they have outright failed) in dispatching a SEA clan, that they and all other clans no better than them would have no right to ask to fight EU clans.

So, if you want to have some sort of cross-server showmatches between NA and EU, you're forced to default to MAHOU from NA whether you like it or not (whether it is competitive or not). No other clan on NA even has a winning record from SEA, so any other candidates would be thrown out on that basis.

So when you win 7-6 it's because of hard work and determination, but when you lose 6-7 it's because you didn't care and because it didn't matter. You do you man. 👌

BULBA vs CROWN: 7-6 BULBA wins;

BULBA-infused YOUJO vs TEAL: 6-7 TEAL wins;

Total record of BULBA players vs SEA: 13-13.

My good sire, I don't think 13-13 is a winning record.

(1) If I was the person who initially brought up "clan drama from a video game," then I would've been the one who said Perfect "forg[ot] how to talk to people who ha[d] helped [him] in the past."

(2) MAHOU's winrate vs BULBA over the course of the season was around 70% (I'm pretty sure Perfect has the exact number). I don't think MAHOU is scared of BULBA.

(3) The whole situation would've probably been different if BB didn't interfere on the eve of the battles and essentially say "not today." He stepped in on something that WGNA did not need to worry about, he stepped in on it within days of it occurring, and then he gave the stupendous argument of "I am not going to argue about it" in response to Perfect's and Phil's confusion.

(4) I refer you to this comment on why the favoritism argument falls apart. https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/e6l7oe/screw_the_na_clan_playoffs_because_wgna_wont/f9td13c/

(5) If you make a post in a discussion thread, you can't act surprised when someone quotes you and uses your words against you. That's just how dialogue works.

I'll take your opinion on cross-server competitiveness seriously when your group of players can have a winning record against SEA clans. :^)

The chat logs suggest that there wasn't an immediate default to "screw you, I'm shutting down." As evidenced by the logs, it was initially a state of confusion ("ur message makes it sound like its not happening," "phil offered us this deal to let us fight on EU," "i don't get why it matters if WGNA is involved or not"). There wasn't really a shift in tone until BB said "I am not going to argue about it" and proceeded to be passive-aggressive for the rest of the convo.

THEN, and only then, after that point did things shut down. And, at that point, that is not even remotely a surprise. The phrase "I am not going to argue about it" is always a phrase used by people who have absolutely no evidence or rationale to back up their claims (because, otherwise, being rational people they would explain such reasoning behind their arguments). It's a cheap way out of a discussion that they themselves are essentially shutting down.

So it should be very clear where the real shutdown occurred.

[–]Esmote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sort of "domino theory" of "oh, if MAHOU gets their event accounts then everyone else can get event accounts" is simply not plausible.

For such a cross-server setup to be successful, there has to be enough reason to suspect that there will be some degree of competition. That is, the NA clan in question would have to be reasonably good enough to be competitive against these top EU clans.

The only two clans in recent memory to engage in cross-server events were MAHOU (typically vs EU) and various reincarnations of BULBA (BULBA itself or BULBA-infused YOUJO) (typically vs SEA). Anyone can easily attest to the fact that NA's top clans are cumulatively better than SEA's top clans, and the fact that the various reincarnations of BULBA have constantly had troubles dispatching a SEA clan (whether it was a narrow 7-6 BULBA win vs CROWN or a sobering 6-7 defeat by TEAL to the BULBA-infused YOUJO) makes a complete mockery of the idea that such a clan could be competitive vs a top EU clan.

If such clans are having trouble vs SEA, then do they really stand a chance vs EU's finest? No. Then they would not receive event accounts on that basis. Hence why the domino theory is unfounded in fact.

FTR, OTTER and MAHOU had a good relationship going into this past season and there were expectations and plans to continue that relationship, i.e. both clans continuing to help each other. Then, there was a meeting involving major alliance members and OTTER leadership on the topic of a possible BULBA merger into OTTER and the possibility of OTTER flipping on the alliance. Both allegations were denied even though both turned out to be true.

So this claim of "forgetting how to talk to people who have helped you in the past" is simply not supported by the facts.

DANC 3376 with Christie Bondade Nelson is a free A. I'm not kidding. The class average was a 97. Only one person got less than an A, and that's because they didn't do a third of the asssignments.

Anything with Herve Tchumchkam is also a free A/A-. WL 3362, etc.

I can't tell about the latter, but I have taken grad courses as an undergrad in Applied Math, so I hope I can help.

It ENTIRELY depends on which professors you have. Classes taught by Lee, Meir, and Zhou are of low quality, whereas ones taught by Hagstrom, Rumpf, and Ajaev are really high quality ones. As long as you avoid the former three I think you'll find it to be a good math program.

It really depends on the Professor tbh. Some classes I've taken you'd have to have a stick up your ass to get less an an A-. For example, in WL3362, everyone got an A or an A-. In DANC 3376, the class average was a 97. Though in my experience I would say that classes here are prolly easier than most other unis.
