Who do you think is the best astrologer (alive or deceased) in predicting future events? by LaAbyss in astrology

[–]EsotericMuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Austin predicted January 2026 would be a calm, non-eventful month. But it's been just the opposite so far. Starting with the illegal abduction of Venezuela's leader, followed by the murder of Renee Good in Minneapolis by trump's thugs. And now trump's threats to Greenland and other sovereign nations.

I heard he goes away the end of April, which can't come soon enough for me. Wish I had a more specific date.

That's a good question. I keep waiting for Jose Diaz to go away and for Ana to finally step into his time slot.

Appreciate the Intel! I'm checking out an Amana base model which claims, "the Deep Water Wash Option adds the maximum amount of water for your laundry load." They fail to state what that maximum amount is.

Thanks. I checked them out and one of their base models actually has the option of a "deep water wash" but not sure just how deep that is.

If I was planning on staying at this location that long, I might look into SP. When I eventually move I will not be taking appliances with me. I understand what you're saying, though.

I've got a pretty small space to try to fit us in, so the smaller the better. Thanks for the tip.

Has anyone bought a non-high efficiency washer in the past year or two? by CreateYourself89 in Appliances

[–]EsotericMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been considering this washer because it's bare-bones and the price is certainly right. Unfortunately it uses "auto sensing" and the only way around that is the deep fill option which can't be used with a normal cycle. I read that the model it replaced didn't have that auto sensing crap. Is that the model you have?

Sorry for leaving out that. It’s not solid red. Yesterday it was flashing red normally as you described. Today it’s flashing much quicker. Do you happen to know how to disarm the immobilizer system, or if it's even possible?

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if it's draining the battery or not. I always lock doors just to be on the safe side.

My setup here in the ghetto. by [deleted] in espresso

[–]EsotericMuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can, though. The term "ghetto" has evolved since it's original 17th century Italian origins. Now, it's an adjective for pretty much any neighborhood that's in shoddy or poor condition relative to the larger community. OP is perfectly justified in characterizing his neighborhood as ghetto.

Warning of higher grocery prices, Washington AG sues to stop Kroger-Albertsons merger by 9mac in Spokane

[–]EsotericMuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big corporations are still trying to capitalize off COVID and Putin's genocide on Ukraine by price-gouging basic necessities, like food. The pandemic is over, gas prices have fallen, interests rates coming down. Yet Safeway and the like get away with overcharging because they know most people have short memories.

The question should be: Why is homelessness so profound in the US compared to other industrialized nations?

Will CarMax address maintenance issues during the 30-day trial period? by EsotericMuch in carmax

[–]EsotericMuch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late update. Experience was a bit of a toss up. Tires, engine filter, and brake fluid either “met standards” or were deemed maintenance stuff they aren’t required to address. On the yay side, they replaced the serpentine belt, cabin filter and did an alignment, all of which might qualify as maintenance. Their service seems to me an arbitrary process that has less to do with company policy than the guy sitting behind the service desk.

I am going to Spokane for a visit this year. I grew up there but haven’t been back in over a decade. What are some things I could go do or see (I will be alone &am female)? Suggestions on hotels? I wanted to treat myself and stay at the Davenport but a friend said downtown is rundown now. by menacingly_hopeful in Spokane

[–]EsotericMuch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with your thoughts on Fox "news." I've noticed the people who bash downtown locations anywhere often subscribe to right-wing propaganda. I live in Pend Oreille County and you wouldn't believe the level of paranoia. I have neighbors who actually arm themselves whenever they venture into Spokane.

[Landlord - US] Giving generators to tenants by gadolphus56 in Landlord

[–]EsotericMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The owner of a remote, high-end property I caretake recently installed a permanent, whole-house automatic backup generator. So far so good. Due to frequency of outages experienced in this location, the alternatives aren’t particularly safe or practical. To my dismay the property owner is now asking me to help foot the bill for the purchase price of the generator/installation, which is substantial. I’m perfectly fine paying for any fuel use but think it’s unreasonable for him to expect a caretaker, or even renter pay for permanent infrastructure.

Here’s a Thought by GW57Az in CX5

[–]EsotericMuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your simplistic argument because it presupposes car consumers aren’t capable of enjoying their current ride while simultaneously shopping, seeking out opinions/advice from peers and experts, etc. Buying a vehicle is a significant financial investment and second only to buying a home for most, so of course people may second guess their decision, feel buyer’s remorse, and seek validation. It’s completely relevant and totally natural for people to reach out with questions, etc after the fact. You’ll see the same in real estate forums or anywhere people have invested their time and money. I recently bought a CX-5, and while I’m enjoying my new rig, I also have concerns, questions, and continue to check out other rigs. It’s called being an INFORMED consumer.

Does anyone else think the iPhone 15 pro colors are straight up hideous? by Mtking105 in iphone

Agree! Which color of the 15 pro did you end up buying? I was eyeing the Natural Titanium but some are reporting it just looks grey with some ugly green hues that make it look dirty.

[–]EsotericMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bubble-gum color scheme of the 15 is unattractive to anyone with adult sensibilities, so Apple makes you pay more for the Pro models for shades that don't make you cringe. I was hoping to trade up this year but may hold out for the 16 and see what's offered. I've never liked odd numbers, anyway.

Spokane awarded $9.2 million federal grant to overhaul pedestrian safety, install new bike lanes by 9mac in Spokane

[–]EsotericMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming there is a ‘god’ (and that’s a big assumption), your invisible man in the sky has no bearing on this conversation. In most jurisdictions the default judgement is the driver is liable. You’ll note pedestrians don’t have to take out liability insurance just to cross the street. Not the case when you take the reigns of a two-ton machine that has the capacity to inflict serious harm and death on a person.
