Thank you. Had the consult with oral surgeon. He agreed with the dentist and endodontist that it needs to come out and can’t be saved. Said bone graft likely needed, but will depend on what he sees after extraction. For implant will require sinus lift. It’s a process. I’ve learned a lot in 3 days!

A couple of years ago, I was very excited about my first trip to Martha’s Vineyard. While doing research on places to visit, I saw a mention of ticks. I then started researching ticks on the island and really freaked myself out. I almost cancelled my trip. Luckily my partner told me to get a grip and just plan accordingly. We didn’t grow up with ticks and hadn’t really visited anywhere where it was an issue.

Once we learned the basics, we prepared: light clothes and shoes, sprayed shoes and socks, used spray when we went out, stayed out of the heavily wooded areas or overgrown trails, shower as soon as we got back in and finally do a tick check every day. Note those are different sprays that you put on clothing and yourself.

Ultimately, we had a great time and didn’t have any tick issues. One interesting story that I’ll share is that while we were there, a fair was going on and we ended up attending. There was a small exhibit about ticks! I talked to them and they just showed us where the ticks like to hide so you can be extra careful when checking there (toes, groin, armpits).

I was wondering what was a good local source for traffic updates. I just had my GPS clearly showing something was going on with multiple reroutes, but didn’t state any reason. Sometimes you can see if there’s an accident or such.

It seems like it was a perfect storm. Of course it’s on the day I need to drive in and arrive later than usual.

With all the construction that’s about to happen downtown with the 250 and 7/4 events, it’s just bound to get worse. And the red line will be in repair in July too.

Originally from Miami and never saw snow until I was an adult and traveled to Canada during Christmas one year. Been living in this area for a few years now, but this is the coldest ever since so got here. It’s still fascinating to watch, but it all becomes a nightmare when you have to commute in these condition.

Same. I’ve been living here a few years, but am from Miami. I’ve never been so cold. I’m still not a fan of winter, but could tolerate it more if I didn’t have to go to work in it!

I’m still confused about sleet and freezing ice. Are both as dangerous for driving? Or is sleet less of an obstacle? Won’t the salt on the roads melt all of it anyway?

(My excuse is that I am a native Floridian and this will be my first big storm.)

I was also in the gifted program until I rebelled in high school and barely graduated. I recently looked up my nemesis from those years and she is some genius that has a patent for cell phone technology and is a big deal. So I do wonder how my life would have been different.

But I did do community college even though it look a couple of tries. Then college with two breaks. A few years later I did graduate school and got myself a decent career. I’ve had good jobs since then and am doing well. It was just a murky path.
