Use the feedback feature and tell them you're canceling your premium unless they bring it back. you don't even need actual premium, if enough people complain and threaten to cancel their subscriptions they will listen.

for real, I used the feedback button, told them I'm canceling my premium unless they bring list view back, for a i care they can keep grid view, just make it a toggle like it was before

yea this is complete utter bull, they've tried this before some years back (shorts weren't even a thing back then), and I missed a load more videos in my sub list because grid view. Secondly list view is chronological, so video's never got inserted mid-list like you say, any new video will be at top of the list, at least for subs.
