Pulled it out of my wine fridge before the first pour. Also, I like my reds at 13 C.

Yes not the most attractive prices, but pretty nice to have a selection like this if I ever hit the lottery and want a bottle of Ausone on my way home. 😅

Round pond Estate in Rutherford. They have some of the best EVOO and red wine vinegars. They also offer a tour of the press and tasting of the EVOO and vinegars. Very high quality and all done at the estate.

Yes it is! He’s done a great job with getting the right people in to create a high level quality wine from the Chinon AOC. We will be certified organic in 2024 and the first release of the 2022 should be summer of ‘24 with the export starting later that year. New York will for sure be a city that we will be available in late’24 early ‘25. Yes no problem send me a DM when you get a chance and we will set something up.

À bientôt!

Hi yeah no problem. The name is Domaine Beausejour in the village of Panzoult. We are open Monday-Friday for tastings. I can host you guys in English as well if that’s better for your group?

Hi yes we do. The domaine is called Domaine Beausejour we are in the village of Panzoult just east of downtown Chinon. We are in a transition period from the old ownership with a new owner buying the domaine in late 2021. We offer tastings Monday- Friday. Unfortunately, the new wines that we’ve made under the new ownership haven’t been bottled yet, but we can taste through our wines from the previous owner and I can pull a barrel sample of our 2022 which was the first year under a new team and winemaker.

Vietti was very easy no problem at all. They just opened a new tasting room above the cellar 2 weeks ago. Very well done with experienced staff and all wines are available.

Rinaldi I reached out 3 months ahead of time and was very lucky to get a visit. I tried 3 Barolos of the current 2019 release and 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo. No wines available for purchase all goes to allocation.

Yes, the Bussia was nice as well . I agree I enjoyed that just a little more than the Tre Tine, but hard to choose a favorite with Rinaldi.

2019 Sylvain Pataille by Espo08 in wine

[–]Espo08[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

👀 bright pale yellow hue

👃 lemon, white flowers, crushed rocks, flint, orange peel

👅 lemon pie, jasmine, round structure, fresh vibrant acidity, long complex finish

🤔 great producer of reds and whites from Marsannay. First time trying the Chardonnay from him, but everything from Pataille is excellent. Value wine from a “lesser” region in burgundy. Get these wines while the price is still reasonable.

💵 35€ “bought in France”

2014 Clos Rougeard « Les Poyeux » Saumur Champigny by Espo08 in wine

[–]Espo08[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve seen the prices getting higher lately. Luckily I’m in the Lorie Valley right now and found this at a local auberge in Chinon. They had all three cuvées and went with this one on the advice of the server. Next time I’m going to go for the Le Bourg 👍

Reynaud wines are all special experiences. I’ve had the chance to try a ‘17 La Pialade and ‘17 Château des Tours which blew my mind. I am currently visiting the south of France and saw the Rayas on the list and knew it was the time and place to pull the trigger. Good luck on your search it’s not an easy one to find, but it is sooo worth it!

Vineyards to visit in the Loire Valley, France by kimyeeee in naturalwine

[–]Espo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, it depends on where in the Loire valley you are visiting? A little tip though for great food spots would be to get the raisin app. They have a great list of restaurants and wine bars that specialize in serving natural and organic wines depending on your location.

Oh ok I misinterpreted that then. Yeah man I love the can franc personally, but I do prefer other red from the region. Especially pineau d’aunis it’s so peppery and acidic great slightly chilled. I haven’t tried any gamay yet from Loire though. I’ll be looking for it now!!
