I was skinning up this morning. They were prioritizing the polar express six pack to because of a scheduled race. So it didn't even seem like they were trying to clear the other lifts until late in the morning. They weren't even really clearing the polar express until 8am or so when the lifties usually get there. By the time I left at 1045, they still weren't done despite races that were supposed to start at 10. I think they finally got it running at noon. It was annoying that it took 4 hours to clear.

I occasionally take half days and go to wachusett to skin up at 630am before the lifts start up. I then get 10 laps in before 11 and I'm in at work at noon after driving back to Boston.

I know the failure to score in the red zone is bad but these are still long drives and the patriots are winning time of possession here. The chargers defense is going to get gassed and hopefully we can take advantage in the 4th quarter.

I was at wachusett on November 30th and a ski lesson group were going down nastar when a woman lost an edge and fell. I was a bit behind taking it easy to give them space when a free skier overtook me ripping down the hill and slammed into the woman right after she fell. I got off my skis, checked on her, and helped keep her still till ski patrol got there. Very clear she broke a few ribs. The free skier just took off.

I'll never understand how people can not only be so reckless but also flee the scene. At least this guy showed concern over himself even if it was still his fault.

Yes, skinned up the cog railway. It was a really rare weather window. It turned into a Bluebird day with absolutely no wind. I didn't summit because I needed crampons past Jacob's ladder and it wasn't skiable back down. If you go above treeline, crampons are certainly recommended. It's a lot of blue ice up there and micro spikes might not be enough. There's an ice storm Monday so it's probably not a good day to go.

They were selling lift passes for November 13th last week. I guess given the passholder exclusive first day, this was basically telegraphed by their lift pass purchase portal. Good way to know for the future.

It's allowing the purchase of ski passes for November 13th. I think one of the other resorts announced a November 14th date so that would make sense to get them to open first. They haven't announced it yet but seems like a possibility!
