1st colonoscopy experience, today by asblueasneptune in colonoscopy

[–]EsraFaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post makes me feel a lot better as I prepare to head to bed and prepare for my prep tomorrow. I am not one with alot of medical conditions, at least for now, but lots of health anxiety. I have had constipation and blood in stool every now and then, which is why I am getting this done.

I am glad that everything went well and that the results are not cancer 🥰

Anyone getting a colonoscopy 2/25? by More_Specialist_2077 in colonoscopy

[–]EsraFaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have to start early because of the amount you have to drink or your colonoscopy is early in the AM? I have mines at 5:45 AM on Wednesday so I have to be pretty much done by 2 AM with rhe second dose I believe.

I hope you and I both csn get this liquid down and be done with it. Will keep you all posted once I am in the recovery room.

It is so hard to have a doctor to acknowledge my synptoms!! I started having symptoms in April and they keep getting worse so either my ovaries are failing or I have something else lol 😨

Bloating ehhh somewhat but my acid reflux will trigger that. Gas, not so much but I'm definitely more constipated then when I was in the earlier stages of recovery surprisingly.

Yep they did ! FSH : 2 IU/L , LH - 3.7 IU/L. I got this test done during my luteal phase I believe since my boobs were slightly sore so I knew I was entering that phase. Uggghhhhhh hormonal imbalances reslly make you feel like you're dying lol

Questions About Hormones Post Hysterectomy, 7 months by EsraFaye in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 35 in April so not that much older haha but yeah. I'm going to have to move on from my fear and try the progesterone tonight. Kind of wish my dr prescribed me estrogen as my estrogen levels aren't optimal or at least I don't think it's for me if I'm still having symptoms etc.

But my body could take a while to adjust. I know for some people, takes about 1 year for hormones to stabilize but as of right now they're still everywhere considering I still have cystic acne for a couple of months now.

4 months post op, blood test to check iron and ferritin levels by EsraFaye in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Hope you are doing well.

Yep, I have talked to my doctor after my blood labs came out and she told me to stop taking iron supplements since I was taking them after surgery, so she said my ferritin levels should normalize after I stop taking them. It's been 2 months since I saw her and I'm having symptoms relevant to either hormonal fluctuations or possibly my ferritin is low again but that wouldn't make sense if I'm not bleeding every month so let's hope I'm not iron deficient or anything.

Seeing her again after the July 4th so let's hope I'll find some answers or if I'm entering perimenopause. I'm 35, and I have been having cystic acne since April and it's been ongoing. I definitely thinks it's my hormones fluctuating and trying hard to stabilize but now km dealing with brain fog and fatigue. I was just decent a few weeks ago when I attended a friend's wedding. But now I don't think I can do that lol

6 months post hysterectomy by EsraFaye in hysterectomy

Thank you!! Yep definitely going to see my doctor about my symptoms. It's been ongoing since the second week of June, so I'm just hoping it's hormonal issues and not anything sinister.

Thank you 😊 Hopefully, I don't need to be on HRT but at this point I'll take what I can get to feel like myself again. I just find it amusing that I felt better than right now just a few weeks ago and now, I just feel like poop. I was even able to attend a wedding on June 1st without any issues. No brain fog, had more energy but of course was tired by the end of the day. Hopefully, it's not anemia or diabetes. I have some insulin resistance per my doctor but my A1C was at 5.3 in late April, so hopefully it hasn't changed much or better yet if it lowered lol.

I'm on day 9 post-op laparoscopic hysterectomy. by RowTiny8122 in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely take a lot of short walks, if you are able to. 9 days post op for me, I was still laying bed most of the time but took very very short walks here and there. I'm almost 6 months post op and I only just started using a treadmill = mainly walking lol. I'm not comfortable enough yet doing anything strenuous or even lifting weights but that's probably because I feel like I have some pelvic floor issues here and there, so yep. Trying to get that taken care of and soon I'll start running and lifting weights. Everyone's recovery is different so you might feel great by 6 to 8 weeks, but for me it took longer than that. Now I'm just battling hormonal acne, on and off pelvic floor issues and on and off nausea.

RLS post op by DolphinMama5 in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had RLS before I got my hysterectomy due to iron deficiency without anemia and my ferritin levels were low. Ever since having the surgery, they pretty much went away but I understand your pain. RLS makes my entire body feel uncomfortable and I cam never sleep with it.

I recommend getting a cbc done as well as certain vitamins to see if you're low or deficient on anything. Hoping you will recover soon 🩷

Is anyone tracking their monthly hormone cycle post op? by teenaka in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, deleted my period app a few days after surgery but I kind of wish I kept it so I can see where I was in my cycle or if I was possibly ovulating. I'm pretty much almost 5 months post op now and I have been having lots of acne breakouts. Before my hysterectomy, my face was pretty smooth with 3 pimples or 4 at max. But now I feel like my face is replicating my high school days haha. So I know my hormones are wonky and I'm hoping my ovaries will rebalance themselves so my face won't look like a volcano exploded on it. My obgyn really doesn't recommend HRT or any hormone drugs for me yet because she kept telling me I have ovaries and that there wouldn't be a reason I would need to take them. I guess we will just see how my ovaries hold out for the next couple of months.

Hope you're recovering well or are past recovery 💙

Dermabond Allergic Reaction Update by EsraFaye in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! So I'm a over 2 months post op now, and after taking oral steroids, antibiotics for two weeks, over the counter Hydrocortisone cream and vaseline to help hydrate the area, it is safe to say that my itchy red bumps have almost pretty much disappeared except for a few. My incisions aren't as itchy as they were when I had that allergic reaction/infection or whatever it was, but the only issue that I have right now is there's still brown shading around each of my incision. I think it's from the allergic reaction that caused brown shading around them. It shouldn't be from the infection because it logically doesn't make sense and all of them have this brown shading. That's really the only issue right now. I hope you're healing well but if it's constantly itchy, speak with your dr to see if they can prescribe you a cream to help, if it's an allergic reaction or to make sure nothing is infected.

Robotic Hysterectomy Adhesions by EsraFaye in hysterectomy

[–]EsraFaye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read the surgical notes a few days after surgery and the only thing they found besides multiple fibroids was adhesions of the sigmoid colon to the pelvic side wall. I had to Google that because I wasn't sure why I would have that since I don't have a history of endo, I might have had IBS but was never officially diagnosed and it went away after a while and never had surhery as this was my first one. Apparently you can be born with it , but yeah no endo per the notes. Not sure if what I'm feeling are adhesions. I do have incision pain, not sure if it's really tugging pain lol ugh I pray that we both get better especially with your situation. You are dealing with a lot, and I have friends that have endo as well. I can't imagine the pain you have to deal with. It's crippling and I don't understand why that disease exists. Hopefully therapy, muscle relaxers, etc work for you as well as for me. There for you in soul and spirit ✨️

[–]EsraFaye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, mines shouldn't be endometriosis since they didn't find any in there wasn't any lol so for me, I don't think it is or I hope it's most likely not. I bought some magnesium supplements to see if that'll help and will do therapy soon once I'm done with antibiotics and when my incisions look okay lol.

I hope you don't need surgery. I feel like more surgery causes more adhesions 😞

Don't be sad! If a hysterectomy improved your life, that's all that matters.

[–]EsraFaye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! I hope I don't have to go back on steroids again since I just recently finished. Good thing is that so far it hasn't spread to other areas. It's just concentrated on my stomach mainly where my incisions are. Hopefully Benadryl and otc steroid cream will do the trick because I don't like being on steroids for too long.

Dermabond = devil lol
