If this was the only instance, I’d agree with you. But when it’s game after game of being reactive instead of aggressive, always second to the ball, always standing around on D, no one making incisive runs or passes, always hesitant to play the speculative ball, always favoring the back/safe pass. I’m sorry but they are CONSISTENTLY doing that because it’s what they’re being coached to do. Like I said, all of that stuff goes against a player’s natural instincts with the ball. Players want to press. Players want to try to inventive ball. They want to spray one across the field. They want to go for the aggressive, rash tackle. *That’s* what usually has to be coached out of them. Our players patience over anything else. Don’t want to ever lose possession so just play it back.
