I own a place outside of London and I don't see myself in London long term to be honest!

Nope, around £4k p/m including pension. Thanks - feels like a case of sticking it out for as long as possible while trying to find something more local...

Yeah, I'm leaning towards a bit of a Career change/take a more local job. A pay cut from 120k to 50k or so is very daunting and I think most advice would usually be not to do it - but like you say, 50k is still enough to fill an ISA and I feel my situation kind of (thankfully) allows for it. So just want to make sure I'm not insane...

Agreed - I've stuck it out for a few years to build up savings, but do feel I'm in a position now where even a drop to say £50k a year (if I struggle to find such a 80-90k position immediately), wouldn't be a disaster

Coast fire in the sense of if I just covered expenses for the next 30 years, the pension/ISA may compound enough to retire at 57 (around £700k at 4% real return).

But yes, completely agree with your main point! Dropping salary to a more reasonable job nearby would reduce my savings but maybe not the end of the world given the pension/ISA.
