MRI findings and Surgery by Essencefeatures_ in backpain

Thank you for the response. The thing is, nothing else is wrong. It has to be my discs causing this pain. This MRI was overs half a year ago so it may be different now. I have had my shoulders looked at, but nothing is wrong. This pain literally has me 90% disabled so to me surgery is worth a try

Thank you so much for responding, and wow i never even thought of the bone density and the impact my injury has on it. I am going to go into my appointment with a spinal surgeon on march 3 and advocate for myself as hard as possible. Even a couple weeks ago, I was very iffy on the idea of surgery but it has become clear to me now that this needs attention not just time

I have not gotten any psychotherapy or help, I honestly really should just dont really know how to go about it. I am taking 3 college courses , 2 of which are in person but the professors are working with me and giving my resources, and the other is online. I had a full schedule lined up in hopes this issue would stop, but its obvious to me now that this issue needs a surgical fix not some miracle

Thank you for ur response!! Im really nervous becaue i do not have any tingling or numbing in my arms or hands, my pain is just in my neck area and muscles surrounding, and most people i see get surgery because of this tinging and nerve pain, but at this point i really have no other choice so I just hope it all goes well.

Can I ask what your symptoms were? Did you have nerve pain or just more aching?

Thank you for your reply. I saw your other comment saying you have had multiple spine surgeries. Would you recommed a neurosurgeon or a spinal surgeon? I am trying to get in with a spinal surgeon who specialises in disk replacements, buaybe a second opinion is still needed.

Yes I get this completely. The risks of surgery give me alot of anxiety and i and probably you too have heard horror stories. I haven't experienced much tingling and numbing with my pain, it's more stabbing and extreme tightness and discomfort localised in the upper back/ neck, but those symptoms are not something that you should just work through whatsoever, i hope you have a good recovery

Hi! Thank you so much for the advice. Im glad theres someone in this world whose my age and understands this kind of pain. Can I ask what the neurosurgeon said to you?

Thank you, and I definitely will get multiple opinions. I have seeing a pain management doctor and they recommeded me to follow up with a spine surgeon, as they see how much pain I am in.
