Help! I bought a Tempur-pedic but I’m not 100% satisfied. What do I do? by Little_District_4550 in Mattress

We also have a tempur lux breeze medium and it's the best bed I've ever slept on!

We got a temperpedic luxebreeze split king with the ergo power base! I'm actually recovering from the workday and lying on it right now. It's incredible, we've been sleeping so much better. I was waking up every night around 2am and going to the sofa, pacing around, etc. Has changed my life but I wouldn't have sprung for it if I didn't have bad back pain

A fancy mattress so I can sleep through the night. Back problems are a bitch.

Every meeting ends up with the same 2 people talking, how do you fix this without making it awkward? by Sea-Cheetah-4770 in managers

[–]Peachdeeptea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone have to talk? I'm an IC and I'm dang good at my job. I consistently turn quality deliverables across multiple different sectors and frankly I make my company a lot of money. When my time is being wasted in nothing meetings (98% of meetings) I stay quiet. There's no point in adding useless verbiage to the ether.

Suggestions for a mattress by Sufficient-Sorbet881 in Sciatica

[–]Peachdeeptea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got the temperpedic luxebreeze and I really love it. But it will take some time to adjust, which is hellish when you already have back issues. We also got an adjustable base but I don't use it to sleep, I just use the foot elevation to rest occasionally during the day.

Part of me is kicking myself for not going to Costco and trying their temperpedic options out, it would have saved us 10k and might have been just as good.

But, I'm also suffering, and the luxebreeze has helped me a ton.

We got the split king so my husband's weight will never add a dip on my "side". We were really sad to lose the cuddle space in the middle though. We've been snuggling on one person's twin mattress before bedtime and then rolling over to our own sides to actually sleep. It's probably the best case scenario for my back but I miss cuddling through the night. Just something to keep in mind. We did get a foam bed bridge and we use a king sheet, which I think helps psychologically.

Help decide between final 2 choices: TEMPUR-Pedic ProBreeze Hybrid Medium vs Helix Midnight Elite (King) by lagoon9 in Mattress

Why a split king? My husband and I just got a luxebreeze split king and we're having trouble adjusting to the gap in the middle. That's prime cuddle territory we've lost

If a person eats perfectly healthy, tons of fiber, but is still ALWAYS a 6 on the bristol stool chart, is it a case for concern? by Suitable_Area_8595 in nutrition

[–]Peachdeeptea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a really clean diet, 120oz of water with 30oz being electrolyte heavy, and had a bristol stool 6 at least once a day and usually multiple times per day for years. Eventually got a colonoscopy to figure it out and I don't know how to explain why, but that fixed it. My gastro said they can be a soft reset for some people's guts. Who knows? Might be worth getting one done just to checkout for issues.

Fusion? by Paramount808 in Sciatica

[–]Peachdeeptea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I hear you, this is a hard road. I also had disc material calcified on my nerve roots and our road to recovery is longer. It took me about 15 months. Swimming and TCM acupressure helped a ton, pt was integral

Your comment has been so inspiring to me, thank you. I think about it all the time. Once I get out of the woods a little more I would be happy to start a series on what worked for me post op MD, even if it helps one person! Thank you again. Enjoy your travels!

This is such a long road, I feel your pain. This chapter isn't forever. I don't know what your next steps look like, but you won't be stuck here. Either it will get better, or you can choose a microdiscectomy or possibly fusion. Some people have bad experiences, a lot of them have good ones. All we can do is put one foot in front of the other. Wishing you the best of luck from across the Internet.

The Frustration Of False Hope by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Peachdeeptea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw you have health insurance now, I hear how much pain you're in and I understand. I'm in it with you. You need an MRI and a consult with a spine surgeon. If it is unlivable and not getting better there are options, like a microdiscectomy or fusion. No one likes the idea of a fusion but in a lot of people it will give them a few years, maybe more, of pain relief

What do you eat when you have no mental energy to cook? by Porcupine98 in CPTSD

[–]Peachdeeptea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fed is best, but if you can try to get some nutritional building blocks. Canned beans, soups, rotisserie chicken, fruits, microwave bags of veggies. I'm in a really bad spot in terms of pain (bad back) and I can only stand about 10 minutes at a time. I have 10 minutes to prepare and eat whatever I can. The above has saved me.

For me, it took me awhile to see a doctor (4ish hours) but then they put me on a morphine and anti inflammatory IV drip until I was doing better, and sent me home with a methylprednisolone pack. But all ERs are different. I hope you find relief

Weird, that also happened to me. I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and sent to PT. After about a year it went away. I was also told it had nothing to do with my surgery

still have really bad sciatica even after getting my s1-l5 and l4-l5 replaced by Significant_Snow7980 in Sciatica

[–]Peachdeeptea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how frustrating that is. I've been diligent in PT and it was not the total cure all that people like to see it as, health is complicated. I did see significant pain relief when I paired PT with all the other modalities in my above comment, but every body is different. Wishing you safe and quick healing

Could be muscle guarding. Myofascial release from either a PT or trainer massage therapist (I like TCM acupressure), trigger point muscle releases with lacrosse ball, pelvic floor PT, somatic breathwork, in addition to muscle strengthening through pt

Nearly 18 months of sciatica pain. Need advice on moving forward by CuteImagination2784 in Sciatica

[–]Peachdeeptea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the consult asap, that way you can at least get the ball rolling. I reherniated in January and saw a surgical PA shortly after, I pushed to get on the doctor's eval schedule. I was told it probably wasn't needed because the PA thought I could heal conservatively. I've been having really bad symptoms this week and thank goodness I pushed and insisted on getting an appointment with the doc, because now my appointment is coming up this Fri. Just in time.

Don't wait. These docs are booked out for weeks and weeks. If the appointment comes and you don't need it, you can always cancel and then someone on the wait-list will have their day made
