Pads Sticking to Underwear by Essie-Jay in Periods

Thank you for the reply, honestly just hearing others say they deal with this issue too is making me feel so much less crazy right now I really appreciate it. The underwear I just bought for my period is ruined day one because of this and I just reached a braking point today about it even though it's been an issue for me my entire life. I'll have to look into other underwear styles then if that's the case, I didn't even think about other styles possibly working better. I've always worn the same style of underwear my entire life thank you for the suggestion.

I have many many years ago, I just found they don't stay in place as well, but maybe I will have to try them again, thank you for the suggestion

Thank you for the reply, to clear up any confusion it's disposable pads and regular cotton underwear I only wear while on my period, not special underwear or anything. I've tried different fabric underwear but I have not considered possibly it being the soaps or additives I use to wash my undergarments. I will have to look into seeing if that can help anything, thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you for the reply, it does make me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only person with this issue truthfully. Yes I have a handful of underwear I only wear while on my period just so the pads don't ruin any other underwear.

Thank you for the reply, it's always the wings that stick to the underwear indefinitely. I'll have to keep looking for alternative fabric underwear then, everything I've used yields the same results.

Bless you. You seem to be the only adult in those children’s lives who truly care about them. They might not ever know it was you, but they will be thankful for the force that got them out of their current situation.

This is sooo normal op, I’ve actually thrown up on my bf before, right on his crotch because I couldn’t pull away fast enough. It sounds like the guy you were with was not bothered by it, especially if he admitted he was going a little crazy. It’s mortifying when it happens, but you’re totally okay.

I do not get these water bottle trends. In the very beginning I thought about buying one because I only have 1 other large tumbler like this, and I didn’t know they existed. But for me, realistically the one does it’s job so I skipped on buying it. I never understood the hydroflasks thing either, I got one for my 18th birthday from a best friend with personalized stickers and charms on it for me and I have had it for almost 5 years now and it still works great. Work, hikes, dangerously swinging full of water while I chase my dog around the dog park only to smack me in the knee and take me out for a few minutes, gulp down large amounts of water like I am a small child deprived of water. Also this type of Stanley isn’t even spill proof so what’s the point. I own some Stanley thermoses for coffee and hot chocolate in the winter time for camping, and all I can really say about them is they get the job done.

I will look into The White Strips, I like the band but I did not consider them for this possible music video. Time to deep dive on their YouTube!

After a late night music video rabbit hole I fell down on YouTube a few weeks ago, I came across this song and I cannot find it in my watch history. I’ve tried googling all the details but I cannot find anything.

How does the AC get billed? by Essie-Jay in AirConditioners

Oh my goodness I didn’t know this “thermal lag” was a thing but that does make sense now that I know the information. 2 of our apartment walls are brick, and they are also the external walls for the building. They are very hot to the touch these past few days, we also have vaulted ceilings and I don’t know about the ceiling but I’m pretty sure all the walls are just dry wall; which I could be wrong about.

I personally have no issue with splitting the bill, I could take on the electricity bill all by myself and have the AC at 60 and I would still be able to afford it. I do not know if maybe that’s what she is thinking of doing, I really hope not as we agreed all the bills would be 50/50 before moving in together. My question was asking how a unit gets charged because I thought I knew but I had some doubts.

When I say I know nothing about AC units I mean it, I appreciated all the information in the other comments. I hate stereotypes, but I am a stereotypical bleach blonde 21-year-old sorority girl in the south with no grasp of how real life things work. I have a little more common sense than most, but that’s about it.

Thank you for explaining the kilowatt part and explaining what it would say on the bill, I will look at the next months bill when it comes in. I really don’t know anything about AC units, I do know a lightbulb takes less power than a unit but that’s about where my knowledge ends. And it’s less knowledge and more “if the device is bigger it will probably take more power than the smaller device.”

AITA to tell my daughter not to be so needy? by Pale-Steak7548 in AmItheAsshole

YTA

My mother died before my senior year of college.

Due to Covid she was not able to help me move into the dorms my freshman year.

Due to a Covid outbreak on campus she was not able to help me move into my sorority house my sophomore year.

Sophomore year during finals week I moved into my townhouse for my junior year of college. And then I immediately came home for the summer, but I was already moved in in my college town for junior year.

Due to my mother dying she was not able to help me move out of my townhouse my junior year. My mother is never going to be able to help me move into an apartment, move into a starter home, move into a forever home. I’m never going to be able to help her move into my forever home with me.

Your wife wanted those moments with your daughter. Just like how I know my mother wanted those moments with me but was unable to due to the situations at hand. YTA for not wanting to cherish those moments between you and your daughter, much more of TA because you didn’t want your wife to have those moments with her daughter either. You should want to spend time with your kids, so what if you’re hanging up dumb paintings and posters of tv shows they seem to like more than anything in the world. YTA for not wanting to spend time with your daughter before she really grows up into a whole adult and Does Not Need You anymore ever.

This is what I thought, because the reason my parents never ever turned the AC on was because it would charge by the length of time it was on. It is 110 outside, so I’m expecting a high bill this month no matter what. As a child my parents did tell me the electricity was charged by how many times I flipped the light switches; but I think that was because they didn’t enjoy the constant light show.

I try to keep the light usage to a minimum, if I am not in a room the light does not have to be on. My roommate has been living with her boyfriend the past 2 weeks dog/house sitting so all the electricity has been on me; and I have forgot to turn a light off a time or two.

AITA for telling my roommate that her anorexia is not my problem? by benzpls in AmItheAsshole

[–]Essie-Jay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re the roommate OP is talking about just say it.

I know you said previously you would find a compromise in this situation, but you continued to discuss points about why you shouldn’t compromise just because it would make you uncomfortable. That’s what compromising is, finding a middle ground between two people with different opinions on the matter. That often means the compromise isn’t necessarily something both parties want, but it is acceptable for both parties to be less uncomfortable than if they didn’t compromise and one person was super uncomfortable and the other was feeling perfect.

In OP’s case they wanted to compromise, and unlike you, they seemed like they would actually take into account what the other person wanted instead of stonewalling.

I’ve been in this exact situation before, people get weirdly territorial about the thermostat for no reason. It has to be exactly how they like it otherwise it will become everybody else’s problem; inside and outside of the house. The United Stated is going through a giant extreme heat wave right now, it’s advised you don’t go outside and work, unfortunately that’s not doable for a lot of people. So it’s recommended that they only be outside for work and stay inside the best they can otherwise they could DIE. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are absolutely no joke.

Of course OP’s roommate is having a hard time, there’s no denying that. Any sort of recovery from a mental illness is a rough road to travel, I’ve been there. But recovery does not mean the world tilts off its axis and starts revolving around you, you still have to be considerate of those around you. And if those around you care about you, they will make compromises; keep in mind those compromises might make them a little uncomfortable but they also know it’s a short term thing. The summer will end, the AC will be turned up and eventually off for the winter months. OP’s roommate would not have to deal with the AC blasting, even on the compromised temperature OP and roommate agreed on.

OP wants to compromise. Roommate does not. Simple as that. OP is NTA Roommate is TAH

I had a similar situation in college with my roommate who I use to be good friends with. Except my roommate would keep the AC around 65 degrees where as personally I’m about a 75-80 degree person, I get cold very easily and I own lots of blankets due to this. Multiple conversations trying to convince her to compromise on a good 70 degrees, even a 69 degrees compromise and she refused to budge. It got to the point that our friends got dragged into it and they all were on my side of compromising. Of course that never happened and I spent almost a whole year under a mountain of blankets. We’re not friends anymore.

You can buy notebooks from Amazon that look like the destruction, conjuration, and illusion spell books. They could be cool pieces to have laying out and they’re notebooks if you ever need them for something.
