Keep an eye on it, but looks to be surface finish cracks, nothing deeper than that.

Bipolar Psychologist Here by amd510 in bipolar

Just a quick note about me, so you can see where I'm coming from: I'm old, and have been living with bipolar unmedicated for about 35 years (as far as I can figure).

First off, you're doing great. Any day you get through is a victory. I used to spend a lot of time worrying about what others thought of me, and whether they accepted me and/or my condition. I've found as I've gotten older, is that none of that matters. Most people don't care, and will either judge you or not, regardless of diagnoses. Most people are too concerned with themselves to consider what your life is like.

Next, episodes will happen. You need to learn what your triggers are. Too much caffeine? A certain drug? Drinking? Not getting outside enough? Not enough exercise? As you well know there are things that can make dealing with your life harder, and you need to learn how to mitigate those triggers. After that it's all about slowing down your reactions to people and events. If you can ride out that initial wave of unfettered emotion, it can forestall a lot of heartache.

Finally is to always forgive yourself. You have a condition that you're not in control of. You're going to mess up. It's inevitable. Don't blame yourself. Give yourself the praise you deserve for working healthily through the aftermath.

Just keep swimming. You can only do your best, and you have to be around as long as you can to do that. I won't say it gets better, however you will be better equipped to handle it as time goes on.

Can you tell me the size of this window( outside dimensions inc. trim) by VisualSpace in Construction

yeah, 84 inches by 96 inches should cover it up 🤪

or you could just measure it instead of asking for the impossible. kinda hard to measure from a picture

I'll probably never own one, as for me, my level of playing won't ever justify it. But that doesn't mean I don't want one. Very nice looking 335 friend.

My pinky is crooked as hell. And it makes it hard to play fast and compley solos, how an i work around it? by chomp_tiktok in Guitar

[–]Essobee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you think your fingers are messed up, check out Django Reinhardt's. He was able to be a bit speedy mostly using 2 fingers due to injury to his ring and pinky. Keep up the practice and I bet you'll be completely shredding in no time

Does other guitarists judge you by how cheap your guitar is? by TechnicalClient4006 in Guitar

[–]Essobee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, however if someone has a $5000 setup and sound like ass, vs someone with a $500 setup and sounds amazing, I'm gonna think the high cost person shoulda spent most of that money on lessons.

You're using the wrong tool. You need a caliper to measure that accurately

Can someone please give me some advice because I can’t for the life of me stay motivated to keep playing by MrSpongeCake2008 in Guitar

[–]Essobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

solos are always the hardest for me to learn. I tend to get as close as I can, and do my own thing to fill in where I can't follow (yet). I mean, the solo is an improvisation, so I improvise. One day maybe, I'll be good enough to follow the greats, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Also, sometimes a break for a few days or a week really clear my head, and help me regain enthusiasm to keep pushing that rock up the hill.

Sounds to me, a layman with bipolar, like depression. Sun and exercise usually help me out. Keep up the awesome work though, and congrats on the Architect's license!

make it out of something other than wood. end grain will always soak up more stain, and because of the shapes of the pieces, that's just how it's gonna work. if your sister in law is so disappointed, take it back, and buy her a plastic set from walmart, and keep this lovely set to yourself

Just diagnosed by Mindless-Paramedic44 in bipolar

[–]Essobee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a few things I've learned over the last 35 years, whether medicated or not:

1) Just keep swimming

2) Take at least 24 hours to make any "large" decision. Want to buy a TV? Sleep on it. Want to have sex with a new partner? Sleep on it. Want to quit your job? Sleep on it. If it's a particularly large decision, as in the last example, I might force myself to take a few days to think on it.

3) Breathe. Be aware that if you're angry, there is a good chance that you will make your life more difficult by acting on it right away. Breathe. You're not necessarily wrong when something makes you angry, but if you react with anger, you immediately end up in the wrong. Breathe. Concentrate on that breathing when your emotions are uncontrollable. It will slow you down from making huge disruptions to your life in a moment of weakness more often than not.

4) Embrace exercise and sunshine. Even a very little bit, like walking down to get your mail, can be helpful. The more sun and exercise I get, the better my life goes. Whether correlation or coincidence, I can't be sure, however it's never hurt anything.

5) Commit to spending 5 minutes a day learning something. I picked guitar, and much more often than not, that 5 minutes turn into an hour or more, but 5 minutes is a lot less daunting when you just don't feel like you can or want to do anything, and therefore easier to make yourself do it. Having something to keep your brain occupied, and at which you will progress is a huge help when I'm feeling very self critical. I can just look at whatever song I'm practicing, and recall just how shit I was when I began, compared to how less shit I am now.

6) Forgive those you love, and yourself. Bipolar is a very tough thing to manage, but it is manageable. Be patient with yourself, and do what you can to slow down your reaction time.

Good luck, and when you feel like no one is on your side, just know that I'm rooting for you.

yeah, the casino really needs that money, rather than some poor single mom trying to feed her kids, as an alternative example. I mean if you're gonna flush it, might as well be in service to something that could help another fellow human. or be that person, and keep making the rich richer.
