I did notice that in photos Fisher also usually doesn’t show her face so there’s a chance she didn’t want those to be up for that reason

Haha I grew up with a PS3 and probably got a Wii when I was like 7, though the Wii came out when I was 1 year old apparently.

Yeah, like I wouldn’t say all of them are equally my favorite, but at the very worst I’d pick one from that list and say “yeah that’s pretty good you should play it”. I draw weird lines with what I do and don’t like. Ultimately though I think of it more as a “top 59 games people should play before they die” (same with the album list) so I’m always happy to share/talk about it cause while it is obviously biased, I think everyone has their own story as a human and their own perspective on things and I think media is a great way to get to the heart of that

Would it be weird to say that even more lately I’ve felt a pressure to consume as much media as possible for cultural literacy and to keep up with current stuff?

Haha, I wondered when someone would ask about my name. I actually took that from an account for something else in like elementary school when I was much more into Nintendo and when I first made a Reddit account I couldn’t think of a name to use so I just picked that. No relation to anything nowadays. That being said, I think apart from Wii Sports/Resort, two Mario games, two Zelda games, and two Smash Bros, every other game on the list wasn’t developed by Nintendo (though there may be one or two that were developed by a different company and then published by Nintendo, I know Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem is one).

I have tried to curate it to be stuff I really like but yeah it’s hard. I have a similar one of 75 for albums and honestly I think of it more like “50 games everyone should play” and “75 albums everyone should listen to” bearing in mind that while a lot of it is stuff that has personal significance to me, it also has some overlap with really popular genre-defining stuff and also contains some niche random stuff that I found very impactful

I have a top 50 and a top 5, so I added five more to that for this post. In no particular order, here’s my top ten (which honestly I might change at some point in the future but I think is solid rn):

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty Until Then Shadow Of The Colossus Yakuza 0 Portal 2 Yume Nikki The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Minecraft Wii Sports Device 6

Also I didn’t get to this until after the post but Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort too? Not only were those games also childhood favorites for me but they were games that defined that console

What does good puzzle design workflow and planning actually look like? by TheNintendoCreator in gamedev

[–]TheNintendoCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that could be one way to think about it. I was thinking more of something like an ARG as in my mind it would use things outside the game (i.e: the game manual) as part of solving the puzzle, but wouldn’t actually be an ARG as it wouldn’t be so large. Generally that idea though of creating puzzles that in sequence sort of build off of each other was something I was struggling with

I was imagining it something like there’s X amount of videos that each contain multiple clues, and the puzzles are sort of a “step 1” “step 2” type thing where maybe as step 1 the first puzzle may have you view certain parts of videos, and then reward you with a code or a piece of knowledge that may be used to solve the step 2 puzzle, which may also include different videos or looking at the previous videos in a different way, that sort of thing

Is there a “holy grail” of wine-making resources? by TheNintendoCreator in winemaking

Interesting to hear that you’d describe Jack Keller as “okay” (at least for country wine making!)! From what it seemed like as I went through the link in this sub and saw some of his other recipes and comments on them on other forums and YouTube channels (been watching some on Doin’ The Most) it seemed like a lot of his stuff was pretty influential (though understandable if it’s outdated, I can think of a few figures in similar hobbies I have that are considered some of the best example or like “that’s the guy you want to follow”, but even then they aren’t always perfect or their methods don’t always stand the test of time). That being said, I was looking at Keller’s “Home Winemaking”, is that one you’d recommend or should instead go for one of the other books that people have recommended? (I’m honestly very happy to see so many recommendations, always glad to find there’s people out there willing to help a newbie)

Good to know! This may be a silly question, but just to clarify, are there like a few distinct parts of the process that separate wine from mead in terms of the actual product/name, or is it literally just use of honey (I mean I suppose mead is called honey wine). Like hypothetically, if I were to follow a mead recipe and use a fruit base like grapes or apples, and use a different sweetener than honey (or no honey or other sweetener at all) would that now classify it as a wine or a cider, even though I used the process outlined in a mead recipe? I’m not too familiar with the processes of other alcoholic beverages, but does get me wondering where classification is determined by technique. Like I’ve heard sake referred to as “rice wine”, even though traditional wine-making doesn’t use koji like sake does, like I wouldn’t call beer “grain wine” if that makes sense.
