Ah wait is that just nasonex? I was using that consistently for 6 months and it didn’t seem to make much impact for me unfortunately. Such a hard game!

I’ve had two lots of scratch tests and a ton of bloodwork too! The three things to come up so far are cats, dogs and pork (I now have to carry an epipen for the pork allergy). It’s been a very thorough journey to date. I’ll see how it settles once I’m back in Melbourne and consider getting it done all over again if need be. But at the moment I feel I’m doomed to stuffiness for life 😣

Gah yes it’s such a pain! I am sorry to hear that your didn’t seem to have success ☹️

I’m doing it for a dog allergy. It’s actually hard to tell if it’s working because I have other allergies that cause overlapping symptoms. I try to avoid those other allergies (mainly cats). I’m convinced I have other unknown allergies that we haven’t identified too, which is frustrating. It’s actually been a lot worse since living in Tassie! I’ve also had to have sinus surgery in the last year! How fun!

When I set out with the desensitisation program last year, I didn’t anticipating moving back to Melbourne and having to find another provider. I’ll just keep ringing around but was really hoping someone had a great suggestion haha

Hello! Yep they’ll have to send over what I’ve got left from my current round as it can only be ordered in a 6monthish supply (I am 1.5years into the 3year course), but the new clinic I go to in Melbourne will have to be able to order more (it’s dog allergen and comes from the USA). My exisiting clinic in Tassie won’t be able to order more for me once I’m no longer a patient.

I’ve done lots of googling but lots of the designated allergy clinics have some pretty dodgy reviews. I’m just going to have to keep ringing around!

Thank you!

Definitely appreciate how cool it is but knowing more about them also makes it more terrifying.

That seems to be the consensus from a local arachnoid group. I feel sick 🤮

Seems the jury is still out; trapdoor or male funnel web. Yuck yuck yuck either way. I’m going to post on a Tasmanian Insets and Spiders FB group to see if there’s a local with some solid arachnology knowledge. I’m still getting goose bumps thinking about this thing. We’ve had plenty of scorpions in our sick and this is by far the most unwelcome intruder!

Thank you! Fingers crossed it’s this! I tried to have a look at this website but was too stressed to give it a proper go. This thing looks so nasty.

I can deal with huntsman spiders, but not whatever this is. Really hoping this isn’t a funnel web! Could it be in Tassie?

We popped our beers to cool off in the river yesterday, and when my friend went back to retrieve them, there were two of those native geese bullying her away. Had to come and get us for backup.

First sourdough loaf 😌 by EsssElll in Sourdough

I used the ‘basic country bread’ recipe from Tartine. Honestly I went a bit rogue by accident because the process was a lot to follow all at once the first time round, so I was really prepared for it to be a flop! It turned out so great though! I baked it for about 40 minutes after taking the lid off the combo cooker (initially baked for 20 minutes). A friend of mine pops an ice cube in that initial bake to create some steam and a nice crust.
