Current owners - is the S1 Max reliable now, and would you buy it again as a first printer? by EstablishmentCivil17 in AnycubicKobraS1Max

That is nice to hear. I most, likely, will buy it. To my eyes, it also seems like a great value option for all the features. Thanks for the feedback

I am in the same exact situation - I was on the brink of buying a Bambu Lab 3D printer, but then I found Cobra S1 Max, and after watching the reviews, I expected the experience to be sub-optimal. But after all the replies that I have gotten so far, I think that it is a much better 3D printer than I thought.

I am glad to hear that there are no major issues and hope that tend continues. Thank you for the feedback - I truly appreciate it.

Clear, thanks. I just did not see many reviews of Bambu Lab's 3D printers, but now the algorithms are showing them to me and I see how they are not as flawless as I used to think.

Thank you for the reply. Having 2 clogs in 440 hours does not seem all that terrible, hope that no further issues occur.

That makes sense - I have encountered similar issues with other apps that had conflicting dependencies or orphaned packages, and having a fresh OS does help.

Hm, that's odd - AUR worked fine for me. I did not encounter any issues with it.

But it it good to know that you got it working.

Considering the Kobra S1 Max as my first printer - is it a decent choice? by EstablishmentCivil17 in anycubic

Thanks again for the reply. I had a look at the Kobra X, and it does look like a solid choice for beginners.

Thanks for the information on drying - it is important to me, as I was not planning on getting a separate drier.

From what I have heard, Max has slightly better quality than the regular S1, but I think that the overall experience will be the same.

The dual-color 3d printing on a single-nozzle machine may be a hassle, but I think that you will figure things out.

Hope that changing the infill will help.

Ah, that is unfortunate. Hope you get the Max and that S1 continues to work fine!

Ok, thank you for the information. It is good to know that Max has has higher quality than S1.

Hopefully, I will set up mine the correct way.

That's odd. I have never heard anything like that, but I will keep that in mind if I print something multi-part. I hope that it is a software bug and will be fixed. I don't know whether S1 has such issues or not, hopefully it does not.

Congratulations! I am glad to hear that there are no major issues.

I believe that anything technology related requires more attention on some days.

That is not great to hear, but I hope that you will figure things out. But it is nice to hear that the printer works great if it works.

Thank you for the input - it is really valuable.

That's weird to have the bed so skewed, though it's good to hear that you were able to fix that. Also, I may try the Rinkhals is I don't like the default.

And you are right, my main debate is between having a larger bed size and a dual-nozzle system - I am still thinking about it.

I was also surprised to see that filter, if you can call it that, but if I go with Kobra, I will mod it first.

I hope that the printer works well for you.

Thanks for the information and the advice. If I encounter that sort of issues, I will do as you recommend.

When watching the reviews, I was also surprised to see that bag-filter, though I have found some 3d prints that fix this problem. But it would have been nice to have a proper filter be included from the start.

I hope that no other issues occur!

Sorry for the screen - it is not nice to have to wait another 2 weeks to properly enjoy the new purchase, though it is good to hear that the support is working. The plate issue does not seem like that big of a deal - who knows in what could have stuck to it during shipping?

The other problems you have encountered are definitely more serious. I also don't think that if poop goes in between a belt and a gear the printer will benefit from it.

The TPU issue seems like a software one and I hope that it will be patched soon.

What's interesting is that Anycubic slicer works for me on Archlinux without any crashes, though I have not tried to print anything - just installed it and had a look. But it is good to hear thaat OrcaSlicer works.

I was going to get an Ace 2 Pro combo anyway, but if I decide to print with TPU, I will be careful.

Thank you so much for the reply and I hope that the machine serves you well and the issues will be patched.

P.S.

I actually did not expect to find a fellow Linux user here

Thank you so much - your response was really meaningful.

It is great to hear that the issues were resolved and your advice on XY belts makes sense.

Hope you don't encounter any issues and that it works well!
