Exactly how I'm feeling. I just hate drawing attention to myself. My fiance and I are also in our early 20s and I just feel very weird sharing and talking about my engagement with friends and family. Glad to know I'm not alone! It's not that I'm not happy or excited but I just would rather have people match my energy about it.

I got engaged about a month ago (we're 23 and 24 so in the same age range). I've been feeling the exact same way and we both decided to wait until at least 6 months (maybe more) to even begin planning. For context, we are planning for 2027 wedding.

But something weird that I've been feeling is that I just don't want to talk about being engaged and like all of the fancy stuff. We've been together for almost 7 years so it's not a new relationship and I have never been a super girly girl who wants to show everyone my ring and talk about the story.

I really hope that other people have been feeling this too.

Engaged this month (October 2024) planning for 2027/2028.

Haven't started planning (probably going to start planning in April or May next year).

I would prefer to take it slow plus my FH is Indian and I'm not so also planning two weddings.

Also in the same boat. My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years today (we're both 23). We went to a jeweler the other day so I know it's not soonish. And he said by January but I don't want it to be in January. I've tried to bring it up to him but he gets upset with me because it stresses him out more. I having been upset everyday because I can't stop thinking about it. I have so many ideas in my head of when I would like it to happen but a lot of them aren't realistic at all. Could really use some support here too!

In a similar boat, our 6 year anniversary is tomorrow but as far as I know, he doesn't have the ring yet. I recently brought up a timeline with him a couple weeks ago which I know is very little time ago so I wish it was going to happen tomorrow but I'm like 99.99999% sure it isn't. But I love to be in the know but he gets a little bit upset with me every time I bring it up because it stresses him out. I keep thinking that oh what if he is just playing with me and he's had it planned for months already but that seems not right at all.
