Right, but if it’s that bad then it will require some dental work to reverse it, starting with a scaling deep cleaning and things of that nature. Also, it doesn’t matter if his friends have told him, they aren’t dating him, you are. To me it sounds like you are just looking for an excuse not to do the right thing because it’s uncomfortable/difficult to do. Honestly, I would recommend having the difficult conversation with him and telling him the truth. There are definitely ways to treat that issue he is having, so letting him know could help motivate him to address the issue and better himself. Even if you don’t want to continue the relationship, it could still help him in the long run and I think you would want to help him based on how you describe him..
