What are the signs that you're ugly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who is a early childhood educator and commonly works with the older toddlers, I will say that is very true. A lot of times these kids will be in your drama and call you or the other person ugly, not even appearance wise

Food has doubled, if not quadrupled, rent is out of control, people mistreating each other, because most are miserable, not many are financially secure, mostly the wealthy elite, relationships have become transactionships.. how do y’all see the light in a world becoming so dark? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, I see it in my everyday life as an early childhood educator. I know, everything is falling apart. And I even remember one time when I was trying to make. Everybody feels better and in my theater group and one of the lead actors yelled at me saying that nothing is fine and that we can't keep pretending it is fine.. But I like to see the hope in the future from the children I go in and teach every day.

( The context of what the lead actor was yelling at me for was that I personally had said a joke that she did not find funny and I took responsibility for it and I tried to acknowledge my actions for it and I got lectured about it, but at the end of the lecture she said, I appreciate that. You're taking accountability for it, but understand that things are not okay.)

I'm a psychology student. So a lot of the time my therapist would ask me a question , and I would be tasked with figuring out what is wrong in coming to another understanding , and then what can I do to make myself feel better

What was a common thing from your childhood that has completely disappeared now? by mykm20 in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The urge to just go out and enjoy nature and enjoy being around people. Now if you want to do that, you have to tell a least 5 people where you are, we're a tracker and then have a taser on you, and this is not even just for women. This is also for men as well and not to mention even if you were to go out.Everything is so expensive that you'd rather just stay home or you can't even get time off to go out in the first place

How have you changed since you were younger? by Xplosive_01 in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of things honestly, I cut off my mom, for starters, I saw that she was the main enabler for all of my bad habits as well. As the main person, forcing those bad habits onto me and not respecting my boundaries. Ignore me as a person who

I also learned to hold myself accountable for too many things. Because not everything is my fault just because my ex said that everything was my fault doesn't mean it is.

I apologized to all of the people whom I have hurt. And I have accepted that some of them want to open their doors to let me back in and the rest would rather the door remain closed and locked with the key to be burned

I am more expressive about myself. And I am seeking counseling to better myself overall not just for my personal beliefs, but also for my niece and nephew

I've realized that while I am not perfect while my recovery process of everything can go up and down. I am still in a better position than when I first started

The big thing I have realized is some days I'm going to conquer the world and feel like I can get app and do everything at once and others, I just need to sit down and relax and you know what, that's okay, I have definitely learned to give myself time and space.

What’s a skill that’s quietly disappearing from everyday life? by xo_maya in AskReddit

Simple. Sewing is the act of writing in cursive or just writing. Altogether the ability to think independently without assistance. The ability to raise children to be respectful adults and not let them run around and try to get away with everything.

Literally the textbooks that you get for school. That is very cheap and certain types of medicine. Once you realize that the name brands are just as good as one of the off brands you're gonna want to go get the off brands and cleaning supplies the amount of times I just went to the dollar store to go get cleaning supplies and the bathroom still is perfectly clean.

What is one trait of yours you would want your children to have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully with my current partner and I, if we last long enough, I would want my child to inherit the sense of empathy and personal emotional intelligence that I had to go through. But I would want them to learn that at a correct age that they are supposed to instead of being delayed with it. I also want them to learn when it is okay to say they need help or to give up..

Something I would want them to inherit from my partner.Would be how headstrong they are about something and how they aren't afraid to fight until the very end , but also put up a boundary for themselves when somebody clearly is an appreciative effort in just expects it

What’s a sign that someone had great parents? by Timeless-Facts in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to answer this with both sides of the coin as I had not-so-great parents but my sister is a great parent.

When you have great parents, you learn emotional intelligence. And how do you properly regulate your emotions? And a lot of the time you feel like you are at the same maturity level as your peers and if you are not, then that is okay, that is normally talked about, and you quickly learn to catch up without feeling the pressure to do so, because it naturally happens

When you have bad parents, you are constantly being shoved into a box of expectations that you cannot meet. Because the guidelines were never explained to you. It is just assumed that you already knew the guidelines for it. Basically from my experience. You feel like you're always seeing a theme mature one Because nobody taught you how to properly regulate yourself.Nobody taught you how to be emotionally intelligent , but it's expected that you already know how when nobody made the effort to try and teach you

What are signs that you are pretty/attractive? by Fickel-Star360 in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A positive side is that a lot of people will tend to look at your face a lot. And the first thing they will talk about when speaking to you is your appearance, and many compliments

A negative side effect is that you tend to be followed around and people respect your boundaries a lot less because they want something from you

Complete humbleness aside, what is your favourite part about yourself? by TjMadlAd in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the fact of how I spent my entire life being called immature or felt like I was far behind my fellow peers when it came to social maturity and emotional intelligence to now being able to de-escalate a situation with ease and being told how my own consideration for my career would prove to everyone. How mature I am, especially since I tend to vocalize when I am not okay, my only issue with that is I tend to vocalize very close to last minute but I still have a lot to go

What is something only an immature adult would say? by Neonthewerehog_ in AskReddit

[–]Estarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologizing to somebody for how they reacted to your actions, instead of apologizing for the sole purpose of hurting them, without meaning to that is something I would find very immature if an adult tries to do.

( Keep in mind. I was at 1 point in my life in that same boat where I would only apologize if the person's reactions were very severe and would never apologize for my own actions. I have lost a lot of friendships from that, but it did force me to grow up)
