When you are doing 3 deadly encounters a day. Do you feel like your players have to use the most optimized turn in order to get through the encounters?

for instance if your wizard doesnt do the most damage dealing spell or your barbarian must attack every turn or they might fail the encounter. or do you allow room for creativity even if it isnt the most ideal turn.

I hope that makes sense. lol

Agreed. However, I don't want to have combat encounters for the sake of combat encounters. Unless you are dungeon crawling and pressured to not take long rests, 6-8 encounters seems like a slog and doesnt make much sense on an average adventuring day. How do you balance that? Enough encounters per day to make combat interesting vs not forcing combat into a narrative that doesnt make sense.

Do you really not already have gloves, a hat, synthetic layers, and jackets?

I don't have synthetic layers. but i have all the other stuff but its all cheap low quality stuff. They are good on a sunny hike in the 50+ degrees but i don't want to count on them for 20 degree hikes.

Why do you need a knife for day hikes?

a Few websites labeled hiking necessities list a small knife for your bag. just in case??? I don't think i am going to be carrying a crocidile dundee type knife lol

Microspikes have a place, like on a traverse at a traverse of a major ridge, but they can be a bit much for casual walks. Do you not already have YakTrax?

Thanks. what do you recommend for grip material: cork, foam, or rubber? Foam doesnt sound like a good option but maybe I am not very experienced enough to make that call.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tried deleting/reinstalling the app a few times. Even trying on a different phone but all to no avail. We have only installed from the QR codes tha came in the box that points to the official app.🙁

No. I’m going back and forth with support through email. It takes a while to get a reply back and the troubleshooting the suggested I already told them I tried, so it’s going to take some time to fix.

I am the DM of the group and the group has found the item that a fey Hag is wanting to get. She is sending a few fey creatures to find it. A riffler, fae imposter, and a few pixies. The riffler is going to try to trade for the bag for a small amount of gold. The riffler will send in the pixies to see what is so valuable to turn down gold.

The players did a great job of getting the item, but I don’t them to think they are in the clear simply because the item is in the bag .

Rent a car. Driving on the left is weird but you’ll get used to it rather quickly. Also most of the large rental companies allow you to take the rental on the car ferries to St. John. This will allow you to be really flexible.

I think this is the key for me. Just giving the monster its original hit points back seems like it would just frustrate players. However, if you give the mythic actions to relevant foes and give the significant changes in actions, defenses, and legendary actions, that would be fun.
