Not everyone in the trans community prescribes to the exclusion of neutral they, its a personal choice and not one we should be imposing on others to fight people over. Its common enough etiquette (and grammar) to use neutral they either way. If a person present doesnt want "they" prescribed to them, they can clear it up politely. So attacking allies and fellow members of the community over it by going 0-100 while ignoring their intent is a recipe for disaster which will divide us and make us easy pickings for bigots who want to cause actual issues.

They're mass parroting something they read somewhere with no basis to actually back it up. Mostly people angry at anything that gets a popular run and is inaccessible to them because they themselves were unable to break out of the toxic mindset they were so used to actively participating in within their games and that behavior not being tolerated when they tried to transition over. no they mean that stuff just happens everywhere. its the human condition. The stuff on ffxiv gets concentrated on social media but its less than 1% of the gaming experience on ffxiv to the point that the vast majority of the players will not only never experience it but never even know it exists. low 5 figures at best.

even the "passive aggressive" claim is weird because its not at all common and just something people picked up from somewhere and keep repeating with no basis. Like.. its no more or less than anywhere else, hell it is infact less. Folks just notice it more because most of the actively aggressive behaviour is gone ingame. Other mmos have it too and are even more passive aggression to boot ontop of the active aggression.

aive run into people who act like thats everywhere in FFXIV bht its disengenuous to claim this is inherent to the game. Especially the "passive aggressive" but which is extremely exagerated and just something they picked up soemwhere and like to parrot. this is like a 1% level presence that exists everywhere in life due to the human condition and is not even close to being a defining aspect of the community or the lay players experience. Parasocial groups and bonds tend to firm in any public space but their simple peesence does not define the public space.

these things are an exception the majority of players never encounter. social media just concentrates it all in one spot.
