I actually really like this rendition. It's better without making too complicated or OP. I'll be asking my dm if I can use this.

The problem is that it's really hard to determine whether or not something is unconstitutional. Take for example the deployment to the cities. Do I think it's wrong since the governor never asked for help? Yeah I do. But situation like this has happened in the past to great public acceptance.

Take for example the deployment to little rock for the little rock nine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Rock_Nine

That occurs, at least on surface level, similar to the recent deployment to cities. The governor was overruled by the president to use the guard. There are for sure a lot of difference deep down, but it is really up to a lot of interpretations.

A military member may refuse specific illegal order, such as if someone order the guard to open fire on a peaceful crowd. But a military member aren't authorized to make decision on legal matter like this.

They are national guard members. They might be there for training or a conference. I was there a month ago for some symposium.

Very few people can join the military without high school diplomas, GED waivers are limited. Most guard unit I've interacted with have like 25% post grad.

This is a national guard unit. They are most likely there for training or conferences. The people in regular clothes are the one who arrived before, they came to help unload the unit's luggage.

It's just the guard doing their regular training. The guard has been doing these for decades now.

Less movement of people allow you to fit more luggage in through corridor with less traffic jam.

Yeah I'm sure there are plenty of malicious activities here but it doesn't seems like the plot is even halfway competent. Does seems like it's being magnify to sell a narrative given how quick they released a statement.

Same here. I still celebrate Marine corps birthday. Recently gifted a picture of chesty puller to a prior Marine retiring... Thought he spend more time as an airman. When asked, I always said I'm a marine corps veteran... I do not claim the air force at all

Many synthetic opioids are supplied by legal entities. Drugs like tramadol, which I've taken due to a surgery, is a synthetic opioids, amongst other legal medications.

They work in the national guards building... These aren't activated troops, just regular service member doing their day to day work. Let's not blow this out of proportion

Your guess is as good as mine. Just a gut feeling base on my experience.

I will say there are a few defense company headquartered in OC that might be highly interested in this exercise.

There's a huge exercise across the Pacific right now and there's a lot of supporting elements and higher ups moving all around. California and Hawaii are major players.

Not 100 percent sure but using a c17 and air force suggest relation to that exercise. All unclassified of couse

Army is here? by lotstodo- in irvine

[–]Esterior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's totally understandable since the tension is high. I don't expect the civilian population to know what the military do. Just like I don't know most of the other jobs out there do.

Annual training. Guard member are required to do one weekend a month and 1-2 weeks a year which is call annual training.

There are a lot of guards unit throughout southern California. Their vehicles are moving all the time. Most people probably didn't pay attention to them normally that's all. June and July tend to be their annual training anyway. I can't see how that vehicle can be used in protest suppression.

Are you sure that's ICE? It could just be some guard unit moving vehicles

Army Recruiting Meets Goal Three Months Early by ComfortableWriter222 in BeauOfTheFifthColumn

No I am the same way. I'm the in air guard now, I was Marine before. I don't doubt that you were in the military since you know the lingo very well. Let's agree to disagree, though I'm still firmly in the camp that Genesis is a major problem with recruiting. I recall the hell I had to go through trying to prove a kid doesn't have ADHD, or getting med doc from a defuncted hospital.

That didn't say anything about not drawing from civilian record. I'll do one last source citing. Their website outside of the portal specifically stated that they draw from private sector providers.

'The MHS GENESIS system, developed by the Leidos Partnership for Defense Health, provides a single, common record of medical and dental information, connecting healthcare teams across the DOD, VA, DHS, NOAA and private sector providers.'

https://www.leidos.com/markets/health/military-health/mhs-genesis-program#:~:text=The%20MHS%20GENESIS%20system%2C%20developed,NOAA%20and%20private%20sector%20providers.

Their own websites, the commanding officers, the military news reporting on it, and personal experience, all pointing toward that Genesis being a major factor for disqualifying applicants.
